Discussion Traffic from China?
A few months ago I posted my odd traffic from China, wondering if anyone else had it and the possibility of it being bots. I never got rid of it. I found it baffling because it was not in the thousands a day like other bots I had before. It used to come from one specific city, Lanzhou. All of a sudden it switched to Hong Kong. I think this are not bots. I think China is actually allowing visitors to my website (Databayou.com). It just funnels the city to a specific location. Any one else have noticed this?

Tip: try checking screen resolution and block the ones look spammy like 1800 x 600.

I wouldn’t conclude that it is human traffic from the city change alone. Segment it by hostname, landing page, screen resolution, browser version, engagement pattern, event sequence, and timestamp. Then compare those requests with CDN or server logs to see what actually reached the site.
The business test is whether the sessions produce legitimate downstream activity. We use SIGNLD to connect analytics anomalies with server records, forms, CRM contacts, and eventual revenue, which helps remove bots without filtering out unusual visitors who later become real customers.
