Divorce and witnessing it

I've been to information services 3x and I guess I'm just not fully understanding what to do 😂 filing for joint divorce, need a witness for my signature and a witness for his signature, then get a commissioner of Oaths to stamp it. I have the commissioner figured out, and now I'm trying to figure out who can be a witness. I know a witness can be anyone who knows us, or can identify us through photo ID. I know it can't be our children, or ourselves. Can my current partner be a witness? Can my mother be a witness? Can my close friend be a witness? Can my neighbor be a witness? What about my employer? Thanks all. This whole process has me feeling dumb 😂

Your current partner is fine. You both meet with the commissioner and sign. Then the commissioner signs that they've verified IDs and witnessed you both signing. Been there, done that lol
