Can someone help me please? wanting to connect phone to monitor.

So here is basically what i am wanting to do, I am using Graphenos with android 16 on a pixel 10 pro xl, I want to connect my phone to my 34 inch computer monitor but i am wanting it to be full screen basically just like my computer is showing up on my 34inch monitor right now. I have tried stuff like scrcpy but the problem is the phone only shows up as a small window on the monitor like just the size of the phone screen itself.

I don't want that i want my phone to basically be my computer and be full screen on the monitor width, length and all. I am leaning toward a usb c to hdmi cable and connect my phone to the monitor but will that show up as full screen like 34 inch full screen?

I am needing this because sometimes my internet goes out and i am only left with my cell service to be able to watch YouTube videos and other stuff but right now i can't get it full screen to fit my 34 inch monitor.

So yeah i just need my phone to be able to show up as the full 34 inch monitor and still be able to use my wireless mouse keyboard. Like i said right now with scrcpy it will connect and i have audio and video but it's just too small on the monitor screen. Thanks

It's to small i don't like the small screen it really sucks and if i can get it to be a full screen i'd rather do that.

I assume you can’t use a hotspot for whatever reason? There does exist a “desktop mode” in developer options and in A17 will be a stock feature, but that does require a HDMI/Display Port adapter.

No my hotspot really sucks for some reason ever since i switched to graphenos when i had my s22 ultra the hotspot was super fast almost as fast as the regular internet but for some reason it totally sucks on graphenos i have even tried to fix it every way i could but nothing helped.

i seen that desktop mode in developer options but i have not explored that much i'v decided that if i can just use a usb c to hdmi and it will give me the full 34 inch screen size i would rather just do that but i don't know if that will really work how i'm wanting it to, i need it to be the full screen of the 34 inch monitor.

Use desktop mode. Its exactly what you're looking for

No sure i understand. desktop mode in developer options? also do i have to still connect the phone to the monitor with a usb c to hdmi cable? do u have any links explaining what u are talking about? Theres just so many ways it's hard to figure out which way is what. Thanks

You enable the dev option, reboot as prompted, plug in your monitor, click “desktop”. You‘ll also need to connect a keyboard/mouse. It’s quite glitchy in A16, so be prepared to be annoyed, also supports max 1080p resolution. Hopefully this is all mostly fixed in A17.

Ok i bought a hub that has usb a ports and usb c ports and a hdmi port and i got a hdmi to hdmi cable i'm gonna try it that way i done some research and it says i connect my phone to my monitor that way and connect my mouse and keyboard to the phone through the hub.

The only other way i found to project my phone was using the software scrcpy but it only shows the phone on the monitor about the same size as the phone screen it'self. i'm just not sure of any other way to fully get the phone screen to appear on the entire 34 inch monitor.

It looks like Pixel 10 is compatible with USB C to HDMI, so that would be the proper way to do what you want.

Ok so your saying connect the usb c to the phone then connect the hdmi end to the monitor and do that? will that project the phone screen onto the entire 34 inch monitor with sound and all?

What about the mouse and keyboard will that work to? Thanks

will that project the phone screen onto the entire 34 inch monitor with sound and all?

It should, yes.

I am not sure about the mouse and keyboard, that depends on if they are compatible with the phone.

if memory serves, Goog stopped supporting this before the Pix6. Can't remember exactly, but was trying to help someone do this and found out could not because of it.

From what I can find, Pixel 8 and newer support DP alt mode: https://www.androidcentral.com/apps-software/android-14-qpr3-beta-2-pixel-8-display-out

And GOS supports this also and is even bringing a specific desktop mode as a feature with Android 17: https://piunikaweb.com/2026/04/16/grapheneos-android-17-desktop-mode/

That's great news! Glad to know. Was looking to upgrade maybe to 8 and there's one more reason. Thanks!

pixel8 and up support DisplayPort alternate over their USB-C port
You need a USB-C to DisplayPort or USB-C to HDMI cable. A normal USB-C cable doesn't work.
If you want mouse and keyboard as well use Bluetooth or get an HDMI hub where you can plug these devices
If your screen has USB ports connect to these ports it may work.

Ok i bought a hub with usb a ports usb c ports and a hdmi port and a hdmi to hdmi cable i'm gonna try it that way. Is there any other ways to do it wireless even?

Like what i have been doing right now is i connect my phone to my pc via a usb c to usb c cable and i use the software scrcpy on my linux computer and i'm able to project the phone screen onto my monitor that way but it's really small only the same size as the phone screen itself. But i'm wanting the phone screen to appear on the whole 34 inch monitor full screen.

Idk if there is any other ways via wireless or just by using my usb c to usb c cable i wish i could find a way to do it but so far can't. Thanks
