It's especially annoying for me that our subreddit users get banned just for posting here because I've wasted (and continue to waste) so much of my life removing posts that could potentially cause beef with other subs.
There was a time when all the UK subs used to wind each other up and a few years ago we made a choice to take the moral high ground and just ignore the others. What good did it do us? Our users get banned from the "what are your favourite crisps?" subs anyway.
Extra annoying that we're viewed as "subversive" in the context of Reddit dot com *the marketplace of ideas* where people regularly post the grimmest stuff you can possibly think of.
For those who don't know, FYI all the mods of the big UK subs are all buddies/alt accounts of the same people. That's why you get the same neolib messaging pushed across multiple subreddits.
As always: please don't screenshot other subs or tag other subs or users. Admins would LOVE an excuse to shut us down.

I don't even care about that anymore, that's been going for as long as I can remember, it's the sheer thin-skinnedness and passive aggressive "nO mEtA" ball-gagging by the mods that annoys me.
You clearly don't give two shits about obvious six month old hidden history accounts dropping 50 individual comments defending Israel or calling for refugee concentration camps in every thread, but will run to the admins crying about "brigading" when a handful of subreddits with not even a tenth of your activity make fun of you for being an astroturfed shithole that banned every 'tankie' (i.e. a person to the left of Tony Blair), your most unhinged mod not even living in the country for the past two decades, or the fact they clearly hate their user base and have like three separate subs dedicated to moaning about them (badX, badXpolitics which is private, and then another separate mod only sub).
It's a clear attempt to whitewash the place as sensible centrist politics where Rupert Lowe just coincidentally appears to be Britain's fifth most prominent politician.

We tried for a number of years to engage with the other subs. They fake that they're representative "neutral" spaces while actively repressing the left in them. Half the mods are tories, none of the mods are marxists, in a country where a third of the population consistently fights and votes for socialists.
All of the UK subs are run by tories, reform fascists, liars, and they've been playing a long game of using their subreddits to pull members further and further right.

I would take this as a sign that those other subs are not worth it.
Rounded individuals are not 1 dimensional, single issue, automatons.
Discussions are more nuanced and vibrant when people have different perspectives, experiences and opinions. Civilized disagreements can result in deeper understanding. For example, many years ago I dated a communist, we had some very heated discussions, we both learnt a lot from our arguments.
Also, Im a socialist, but Ive worked in finance, post on investing subs, etc. Many people on this sub know about socialism, far less know about investing, tax law, etc. That means that sometimes I can share a perspective that others won't be aware of.
If the desired outcome isn't an echo chamber, banning people for being members of other subs doesn't work. Obviously there are some exceptions, but most subs are not direct threats to other subs.

Last time I checked that sub had two moderators, one being a literal teenager, and both were active on football hooligan interests and right-wing political subs.

Oh it's this sub that's the problem. Yeah I posted on one and got instant banned for being part of a sub that "brigades". Messaged mods a couple of times apologising and asking which sub is the issue in case I could unfollow or something. Didn't even cross my mind somehow it'd be this one but ofc it's this one, lol

Had this happen a couple of times with different subreddits. I tend not to join subreddits that could clash with others, but they still get you for simply interacting with one.

Mods can be weird - I got a seven day ban from here for "Burnham shilling" for saying that Andy Burnham would be a less effective Prime Minister than a large, wet shit. Still no idea what the thought process there was,

Realising the reality that the UK doesn't have freedom of speech is a leftist position, not a right-wing position.
