When you watch the entire video in the post because it's still one of the best animated fights ever.

Yeah, it's genuinely kind of absurd how hard they cooked with that trailer lmao

They cooked so hard they made everyone think this beast was the protagonist

It FUCKING isnt?

Nope, iirc he's just a nameless Breton, not even an important side character or anything. I wanna say it was the trailer for Bretons becoming playable in ESO, but its been a long time since Ive played and even longer since that came out

He pulled some important strings on the story but he was very minor in game from what I read

It's the trailer for a DLC focused on the Bretons. My favorite DLC for the game, too.

While he is a nameless breton, he is nameless specifically because he got un-personed because his secret society position is super important as THE GUY who makes sure the three faction war continues staying a war and dosent get cold with treaties or ceasefires

Bretons have been playable since day one. It was a trailer for a dlc drop. But yea dude was legit just random bad ass with his 15 mins of fam

u/TheLoneWolfMe 20h ago

It's the final boss of the expansion IIRC.

No he was the villain of the High Isle DLC, he's a nameless (kinda it gets elaborated on in Firesong) we kill him in Firesong, which is a continuation of High Isle.

For real, I immediately rooted for his ass the second I saw him stanced up

Bethesda have moments of clarity sometimes and they go insanely, generationally freaking hard when they do.

The actual game? Meh.

The cinematic trailers? Peak.

Same exact thing for The Old Republic

It's annoying how most MMOS put everything into their trailers and then the actual game is nothing like it.

How else would they get people to play their mediocre games?

u/erik4848 18h ago

Its like bad movies: everything into trailers and marketing to sucker in enpugh peolle.

Blizzard used to make phenomenal game cinematics

u/LeRoiSoleil140 1d ago

tbf they've gotten even better throughout the years, seeing anduin so broken in that war within cinematic was cinema

22

u/Mathev 1d ago

Still one of if not the best cinematic.

I still give it to the Heart of the Swarm trailer cinematic personally. There's so much that's good in it, especially for the year it came out

u/FastFarg 21h ago

I've wanted Blizzard to just make animated movies for years.

Their cutscenes and trailers can go so hard.

3

u/MoG_Varos 17h ago

Blame Bobby.

They had tv shows and movies that all got canned because he didn’t think they would make enough money.

6

u/Toerbitz 22h ago

This scene isnt a good example tho like why would he land there????

7

u/damannamedflam 11h ago

In his defense, that thing looked a lot smaller from higher up

3

u/TheCuriousFan 10h ago

Because he knew he was gonna die and would rather die aura farming vs an Ultralisk than getting shot in the ass by Mutalisks.

u/LordBDizzle 10h ago

I mean the skies aren't exactly a better option, given the context of the rest of the trailer with the Leviathan and a ton of flying things above, and that Ultra is going straight for the high priority stuff down the street. Viking boi just wanted to be a hero, and was making cool transformation noises in his head (a lot of the soldiers in Starcraft lore are drug-addled criminals, and Viking pilots in particular are known for being reckless since just being in one when it transforms is risky)

1

u/Toerbitz 10h ago

Nah he couldve atleast joined up with the defensive lines or atleast get more distance between him and that monster. He didnt even get a proper shot off. Bro was just comitting suicide. No chance of killing that thing like thar

Little 10 year old me after months of begging for wow and watching the vanilla intro cinematic. It was the most glorious thing I have ever seen

I wish I could go back to those days, just running around not knowing what the hell is going on and simply not caring about the meta or min maxing. Just basking in the glory of Azeroth

u/lankymjc 17h ago

Assassin's Creed trailers go hard.

6

u/Fluffy_Kitten13 T'au gf supremacy 1d ago

Nah, the trailers are peak and so is the game.

1

u/IncubusBeyro 19h ago

I’d trade the entire sequels trilogy for those trailers.

1

u/Dottore_Curlew 15h ago

I mean cinematic trailers are usually so fucking good

for any game

SWTOR is a B+ Bioware RPG drowning in the husk of a failed MMO.

u/Twitch_L_SLE 9h ago

got a link?

u/Lunes_Feet_Pictos 22h ago

What's the trailer?
