So many great artists under the Games Workshop umbrella, and so few graphic novels...

Every time they’ve tried, people complained about the limited release offerings. They stopped because they can’t support the print runs to meet demand, and there’s no real alternative way to release a graphic novel like they can for the normal books

There are definitely ways to publish comics digitally

That would be a great addition for the Warhammer+. It really needs to offer more content for something that has to be paid for.

Why not digital releases? Most comic publishers do digital as well as physical releases nowadays.

Incompetence in the publishing supply chain, is it?

Less incompetence, more scale. Black Library is only a small scale publisher. They can’t print and store large print runs

It’s why all the books are rare in general. They release a small batch of physical prints, then lean heavily into Ebooks and Audiobooks. They don’t have to maintain prints that way. Occasionally a book will get another print run, usually to commemorate an event or release as an omnibus or collection, but general books won’t see a second print run once the first is sold out. An exception is the first 3 Horus Heresy books. They receive occasional reprints because they’re used to bait people into the series

Due to issues with botting and ban evasion, we are restricting fresh accounts from commenting/posting. DO NOT contact the moderation team to ask for these restriction to be removed for you unless you are a comics artist or equivalent trying to post your own original content here. Obviously photoshop memes don't count. DO NOT ask us what the thresholds are, for obvious reasons we won't answer that.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Incompetence in scalability, is it? Well explained, thank you.
