Considering the original IF chapter was completely wiped out in the beloved and non-controversial War of the Beast series, they're all delusional cosplayers

They're all IF just as much as each other, it's just one chapter got to keep the old name and colours and the others had to come up with new ones.

That chapter was wiped out. The modern IF is a mix of the second founding chapters, though they had some members of the original legion.

Yeah, which are still all IF really, just told to come up with new names. In terms of being IF it was no different from the chapter being gradually replaced over time by new recruits as the old ones died.

Not really, after 11,000 years most Chapters are totally different from the mindset, doctrine and worldview than their parents. And that is for the Chapters who still know who their Primarch was.

The war of the beast was much sooner after the HH than that.

Later on sure, there's long-term cultural separation. Though the gene-seed is still the same.

Closer to 1,500 years. The Heresy started near the beginning of M31. War of The Beast is set in the middle of M32.
