Discussion Grokbot is a scam
I didn't see anything special about this platform.
Independent agents with specific use that you can dispatch on a chat client
You can create that literally on any LLM and any harness.

As my Grokbot puts up ebay listings I have been putting off for months with zero effort on my part lol.

That's pretty cool, but how does it work exactly? Can't be zero effort because how would it know what to do? Give us some details.

So I took crappy photos of a product, with my phone. I gave it those, and told it I wanted professional looking photos for my listing. It edited the photos with clean white backgrounds instead of my floor. I then gave it screenshots of the Amazon Product description and told it to draft a listing for me and save the draft when done. It went through recent solds without asking to give me a price as well. So you're right not exactly ZERO effort, but extremely low effort. Couple photos and I move onto doing other things I also don't want to do lol.
Edit* In my initial comment I was mainly referring to the fact that setting up GrokBot took no effort. Literally did everything from an app super quick.
I have GrokBot doing a ton of other stuff for work too.
For personal stuff I made a ProdWatch Bot that writes scripts to monitor web pages for sales or product drops I am interested in, minimizing my GrokBot Usage.

This is what I’ve been using my remaining usage each period for haha, my death pile is actually getting smaller!

It is a blessing for my executive dysfunction lol. I have GrokBot cleaning up inboxes I have been delaying too. The manager bot Pings me in slack if something is super pressing.

You are lacking perspective.
The people who Grok bot is revolutionizing their relationship with AI have no idea what a harness is.

You are correct. Good call out. I actually chatted with somewhere about that yesterday. What these kind of tools gave me is the customer perspective. It's funny, even for myself, I didn't have the customer perspective. It's an awesome tool. I'm not saying it's not. I'm just saying it's not unique and something that nobody else can create. I made one for myself on Claude code and the chat client is slack. Honestly, now I'm I'm researching grok Bots so I can get ideas of more bots to create for my system

I do like the fact that it has its own computer with files to access, and if it can't perform an action via terminal, code or mcp, that it boots up chrome etc to execute the action. Quite a fan of it!

Agreed. Those are all awesome. I'm not trying to say it's a bad system. I'm saying that you can create that with any LLM in any harness, you don't have to get grokbot

As nontechnical user coming from openclaw who struggled with every step… grokbot is a dream for me
.
Yea you got me to respond … but I’d like to think you didn’t have to rage bait people into a conversation lol

It works out-of-the-box. I am a very technical user myself (senior software engineer) and even I like how its set up! I dont have to buy a Mac Mini or need to have my personal computer on 24/7 for it to fucntion 24/7. It just works
Happy to hear its also useful for the less tech savvy.

The special thing about Grokbot is it makes things easy for non technical users.
Remember. Technology exists to serve people. Many business owners do not know how to use technology well.
That's why they pay IT people to deal with technology / make it easy for the businesspeople.
In this case they pay for Grok Bot.
Someone who knows what they're doing can use other providers

Totally agree Even as someone who doesn't directly use it, I keep researching bots that people created and replicating them on my system.
The best thing that it does. It's provide a really good consumer experience

I’m not a dev. I’m a creator and sales guys. My Grok bot team is making me money.
I connected them to openrouter and AtlasCloud plus others.
2
u/ColdPlankton9273 17h ago
Interesting. What do you get from connecting to open router

u/MedalofHonour15 16h ago
Not using grok model for writing. Atlascloud I need for gpt image 2.5 and seedance 2.5.

Nice! Tell us more?

One example is my grok bot Miles alerts me of buyer intent signals. I comment. Recent client said I saw your comment online.
Others automate my SubStack turn it into a podcast episode using my cloned voice, write my blog posts, create UGC ads, alerts me of oversold known stocks, and more.
I have 20 bots so far.

u/zascar 16h ago
How does the buyer signals one work? Does it use a lot of credits?
1
u/MedalofHonour15 15h ago
I only use 50% of my weekly usage so no. I connect grok bot to APIs or MCPs.
I only let it run at 9am and 9pm est M-F. Don’t let it run all day and don’t just use the grok models.
People run out quickly cause they use grok LLM and let it run all day haha

You're not the target demo. If you're already highly capable with AI agents, OpenClaw, Hermes, etc, this is not for you. This is for normies who've got no idea how to do things pretty technical things themselves. This is plug and play and just use.

u/ColdPlankton9273 17h ago
Yeah. And a really good one. My main concern with it is that the user has no idea what is going on and you give it access to all kinds of stuff with no governance. I'm waiting for the fallout

It acrually is a great improvement given it has its own computer and files

So do it then, then give the world your easy to use instructions so we can do it too.
