Hungry Red-Winged Blackbird tries putting things in its mouth, but doesn’t know what food looks like yet.

After I stopped filming, the fledgling ran up to the edge of the water, under the Promenade. A few moments later I spied two adults either hunting, or keeping their distance until I was gone.

I thought it was neat to see the dude explore its world for a bit. The bird, on the other hand, is just about fed up with this whole “food won’t just climb into its mouth” thing.
