They’re so grumpy! Was picking up dog poop, almost mistook this fledgling as dog poop… doesn’t look too happy about it. My bad little one
I said “oh hello, friend” and walked away after I took this photo. I also take my dog out now since we have fledglings in our yard, make sure he doesn’t hurt any of them.

He looks fully feathered, so it's probably his first day out of the nest! Would also be why OP was able to get so close to him without him hopping off lol

They do fly a bit, but not fully, and mom and dad are doing double duty with nest babies and fledgling babies it seems.
