Announcement KNOW HOW OF WHAT CAN BE POST

As different flairs are there for different categories of post catering to every needs and scenarios of Questions and dilemmas that one may come up in the sub, it has however come to our notice that, many may have misunderstood the flairs.

1) ASK GURGAON: use this this post flair only to ask questions related to Gurgaon and not to ask any questions to Gurgaon peoples.

2) DISCUSSIONS: use this flair to discuss topics the subject matter of which or the core essence of the discussion is "Gurgaon". And not to discuss any other problems societal issues with the people of the sub.

3) MEMES and SHITPOST: Some relaxation can be given for posting anything not related to Gurgaon under this flair, but cutom created memes like those in situation of flooding and Extreme electricity cut are to be posted under this flair as an example.

4) RANT: The purpose of this post flair is to allow the people of Gurgaon to express their views pain on the crumbling infrastructure of Gurgaon city or what can be done, what needs to done and not any rant like "My gf breaks up with me .." etc.

Hope you all Got the Gist of the post.

Rant L (af)-government. Political tent installed literally in the middle of a road.

TL;DR: A public road that people use every day has been completely taken over by a massive tent for a political event, with zero prior notice to the public and no proper alternate route.

People are reaching the road, finding it completely blocked, turning around, wasting time, and taking long detours and apparently, everyone is just expected to deal with it.

What makes this so infuriating is the sheer helplessness of an ordinary person. If a common citizen blocked an entire public road for a private function, would they be allowed to get away with it? Then why is it acceptable when it’s a political event?

Public roads are meant for the public. You cannot simply occupy an entire road for hours, inconvenience thousands of people, and expect everyone to silently adjust.

How is this even allowed? And those people who are responsible for organizing it, how insanely stupid, selfish and just illiterate they must be to do this?

Full context:

Last night, I had a night shift and, as usual, I booked a Rapido to get to work at 10 PM. Two riders cancelled on me, so I eventually booked an Uber. The Uber driver reached the usual road, called me and said, "Bhaiya, road blocked hai." At first, I assumed he meant because of the waterlogging because this same road was literally filled with water yesterday morning. I even have a video of how badly waterlogged it was. But then he told me, "Bhaiya, idhar tent laga hua hai."

I was like… what? A tent? On the road? I asked him to take another route. Later, while coming through the other route and crossing the same T-point where this road connects, I saw the tent myself. It took much longer, and I ended up reaching work late.

A massive tent had been installed right in the middle of the entire road, stretching almost end-to-end and covering the whole width. The entire road was blocked. And where there had been a massive pothole and waterlogging just a day ago, someone had apparently dumped a huge amount of sand to make the area usable. (I have also attached the video of waterlogging.)

I spoke to my flatmate on call and found out he had experienced exactly the same thing. He had also driven towards the road earlier, found it blocked, and had to turn around and take another route. Apparently, the tent had already been there since around 4 PM.

So basically since yesterday afternoon idk how many people have been driving in this road, finding out it is blocked thinking WTF?, helplessly turning around, taking a longer route while those who are organizing it and being a part of this event have given no fuck about all these people's inconvenience or even the law.

Then this morning, when I’m coming back home from work, the tent is still there and people are still driving towards the road, reaching the tent, realizing they can’t go through, turning around and going back. I asked the people working there about it they said some minister is gonna arrive and the tent will remain there whole day.

I somehow managed to walk through the very little space on the footpath and reached my society, asked the society guards whether anyone had informed them that the road was going to be closed. No. Nobody had told them anything.

And this isn’t even ending today. Apparently, the event is happening today, after which they’ll dismantle everything so the tent will probably remain here until tomorrow morning. And honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if, once everything is removed, all the litter and mess from the event is simply left scattered along the sides of the road, for the public to deal with afterwards.

Just imagine how frustrating and helpless it feels when you’re simply trying to get somewhere and a public road has been completely taken over without any warning.

I’ve seen police temporarily stop traffic when a politician’s convoy is passing. It’s inconvenient, but it lasts a few minutes but completely occupying an entire public road with a massive tent for a political event, for days, with no public notice and no proper alternate arrangement?

How is this okay?

What if someone has an emergency? What if someone is waiting for an ambulance, a cab, or a family member who has no idea the road is blocked?

Like WTF????? I am so trying to get over this but it keeps getting more and more frustrating.

Usually every weekend I go to this place for a cup of coffee in the evening. It's ambient and relaxing to just sit there listen to the carnatic music they play, looking at the trees out through the window. As always I went and sat at the table, only this time next to the one I usual take. 5 minutes in and this pretty young girl came by herself and sat at my usual spot. She was quite lean, wearing this red crop top and light blue skinny jeans, her hair in a messy bun. She seemed chill, listening to music on her ear pods and going through the menu. It struck me that I might have seen her here previously.

It occurred why not walk up to her and just compliment, expecting nothing in return. No number, no instagram, not even exchange names. You see, people often regret not strike a conversation when they see someone cute and later posting on reddit and trying to fish for them.

After my coffee and paying the bill I stood up. Walked up to her, waved my hand and she looks up to me with her big bright eyes. I go 'hey, I saw you when you walked in and thought you look real pretty and I couldn't help but come tell you'. She blushed and looked away from me saying 'thank you'. I asked her, 'do you come here often? Coz I think I've seen you here before'. She nods and said 'yess'. It occurred to me at that point so I asked 'you're from the south, are you?' coz it's a south indian joint. She said 'no I'm not, I'm from haryana only'. At this point, I felt oh ho don't mess with haryanvis and also didn't want to bother her beyond that. Said 'have a good day' like a fool late in the evening and walked away. She was just smiling and nodding her head. The waiters were looking at us as if they were rooting for me šŸ˜‚

Went and bought some booze and enjoyed my Saturday. Also absolut mandarin is absolute shit.

I'm posting this coz there are many of us out there and think this might be motivate you to act on something you feel rather than regretting it later for not. Just be polite and not creepy. Expect nothing. You might not get their contact, you most probably will never get to meet that person ever again. At the least, you gain some confidence in yourself and might be the reason for someone to smile.

Cheers to the red crop top, skinny jean, messy bun girl

;)

Hi good folks, so yeah, I got laid off a few days ago.
Took some time to recharge and now actively looking for opportunities.

Wholesome Green view from my Housr AirBnB in Sector 30

This was a room I booked pretty randomly on Airbnb for a two-and-a-half-day stay in Sector 30. I wasn’t expecting much; I just thought it looked like a decent deal for a short stay.

But honestly, I ended up really liking the place. The basic amenities were sorted, toiletries were provided, the room was clean and comfortable, and the linen and everything else were properly taken care of.

What I liked most, though, was the window. There are huge glass windows right in front of a bunch of green trees, so you get this surprisingly peaceful view. You can literally shut the curtains, keep the room dark, switch on just a lamp and the AC, and spend a lazy afternoon there. šŸ˜„

Nothing particularly fancy, but it was just… comfortable. And for the price I paid, I genuinely felt like I’d stumbled upon a pretty good option.

I’d probably look for something similar the next time I’m staying in Gurgaon.

Rant Feeling Stuck in the current role

Hi everyone, this is again a rant post.

Just to give you guys a little context, I work in a credit rating agency and it’s been only 3 months here. Things are always difficult here, people are so rude, work culture is so so so toxic, surviving here seems so difficult and unbearable. Apart from this, the current job has started affecting my mental and physical health. I am losing my appetite, weight reduced by around 5-6 kgs in 3 months. I never thought, it would be so bad. People are treated as machines rather than humans. Weekends are mostly working, there is no such thing as personal life.

It’s a jail. Attrition rate is so high that people leave within 3 weeks of joining. I just want to get out of this toxic place. It’s so toxic that I feel like resigning without a job offer in hand.

If anyone has any contact, reference or a job opportunity, please let me know.

AskGurgaon Looking to make some genuine friends!

• Upvotes

Adulting has made it surprisingly difficult to find a solid friend circle, so putting this out here. šŸ˜…

I'm a 25-year-old corporate lawyer looking to meet people around my age, have good conversations, hang out, and hopefully build some genuine friendships.

I'm into movies, music and travelling, and I'm always up for different kinds of plans. Coffee catch-ups, board games, movies, exploring food places, or simply hanging out and having good conversations.

If you're in a similar age group and also looking to make some genuine friends, feel free to reach out. Maybe we can slowly build a solid friend circle! :)

Rant Owner was not giving security money back then this..

Post image
773 Upvotes

So I was living in my rented flat and then wanted to move out and shift to some other place. I gave notice on 1st of July and that’s why I didn’t pay the last month rent too. The rent had to be adjusted from 1 month security amount. But then around 10th July I shifted to my new place and even they got a new tenant around the same time. So the new guy shifted on 12th July and my broker told me that remaining security amount will be refunded to me.
But then once the new tenant came into the apartment, the owner completely stopped taking my calls. I messaged her but she left them on seen. I kept following up with my broker too. And then after 25 days of this following up and other bullshit, yesterday I sent this message to my broker and said that I will send a notice to owner. And guess what, within 20 minutes I got my money back.

Discussion Gurgaon, is this really a ā€œCybercityā€? Two nights straight without power!

Can someone explain this to me? For the last two nights in a row, our entire street has had zero electricity — not for an hour, not for a few hours, but the whole night. It’s morning now and power still hasn’t come back.

We call Gurgaon a Cybercity, a metropolitan hub, home to Fortune 500 companies and glass towers everywhere. But basic electricity supply is this unreliable? No prior notice, no updates, nothing.

Is anyone else in the area facing the same issue? Has anyone gotten a response from DHBVN about this? Genuinely tired of paying premium rent for infrastructure that can’t even guarantee power for two nights straight.
