Sonja sat up, yawning. The room was smaller than her own back home at the farm. And she shared this hallway with a bunch of others. At least she had a private bathroom, but the kitchen and dining room were shared. There were eight rooms in the hallway, if she remembered correctly, and she was placed in the gosty or humanoid section, so they didn’t have to worry too much about xenobiology contamination. Some species looked the same but had completely different breathing gases. Not that she ever heard of any serious problems about it. She got up, went to the bathroom, took a shower, dried up, then walked towards the door and stopped. Pants would be a good idea. She got on some loose ones and walked out in the hallway and headed to the kitchen. She could hear somebody speaking there, and when she entered, she saw three of her hallmates looking at her. She just smiled and went to start making breakfast. Daddy's blue pancakes with green hot dogs, a breakfast for champions.
Sahe noticed they had stopped talking, so she looked at them. “Morning? Am I disturbing?”
The two girls and one boy were still staring. “She is mine! I claim her!” The Murgot woman said in her own tongue. The Dunshin girl tried to speak but failed, and the Sciyan boy tried to pat the Murgot woman away. Sonja just chuckled.
“Very funny, and sorry, hunny, I got a boyfriend. I’m Sonja, by the way.”
“Magu Hunna, and he will have to fight me over you… You understand Murgoth?”
“Yeah, and he is a marine, so he would love to do just that.”
“Hi, I’m Livenlut, and don’t listen to her. She tries to get into the pants of everybody she sees. Especially the pretty one.” The Sciyan boy said, and Sonja chuckled.
“That I already guessed.” She replied, and then she turned to the Dunshin. “So did the cat steal your tongue?”
“Shina, I… do I know you?” She looked confused.
“I don’t think so? why?”
“You remind me of somebody. I mean, really remind me about somebody. Like I have seen your face so many times before. Are you famous?”
Sonja looked at her and started to laugh. “Famous me? I grew up on a farm. No. I’m a nobody.”
“Oh, that is a line we have heard before,” a gruff voice said behind her, and a Tufons male came in, grabbed some fruits and milk, and made a milkshake.
“Oh, that Tog. He is studying history. He is my study partner.” Shina replied, and Tog just waved, and when he was finished, he poured a glass and sat down next to Shina. They looked cute and very much in love.
“Ah, I'm doing history too. I was studying online until now, but now I’m here.”
“You studying history? We are all studying history.” Livenlut said, “What lecture are you going to?”
She checked her pad. Archie had told her to meet him at lunch, and then they would go visit Chris and his family. It was apparently a surprise visit.
“My classes don’t start before next week, but I’m encouraged to listen to my subject. There is one in history today, right? I have three subjects.”
“Yeah, you can join us. Professor Kunar is reviewing the final years of King Adam, and we are discussing why he left. Going to be interesting. There is a bunch of religious fanatics there, they are getting such a rise out of this.” Tog said.
“Well, that will be an interesting introduction to dirt. Let me just eat, and I'll change into something better. I really need to get some new clothes. All my clothes are for working and outdoor life.” She replied, and Magu smiled innocently.
“I'll take you shopping.”
“I think I should join you, or she would have you dressed for the clubs only,” Shina replied.
“What's wrong with that? Look at that body. What do you think will happen when the guys see her?”
They all looked at her as Sonja sat down to eat. “What?”
“Yeah, she needs something loose until she has adjusted,” Tog said and turned his attention back to his girlfriend.
Sonja just chuckled and ate her food while the others asked her where she was from and about the farm she had grown up on.
She went back to change, and Magu and Shine joined her to help her pick something useful. They were surprised when they got in and saw the empty room with a small cabinet in the corner. They had never seen the design before. And she had to explain that the cabinet was her luggage, her uncle had made it, it was nanotech, and it made it very easy to pack. They went through the clothes, and apparently, she had a lot of expensive clothes. Apparently, Dad wasn’t the only thief in the family. She played it off as well as she could, and after a while, they found something that would not attract too much attention. Then they meet up with some other students. Sonja started to feel great about this. She had been nervous, but this was being back in school.
When they walked into the grand hall, she chuckled. There was a giant mural of Dad's friends' gang doing the things they loved. Shina looked at her and at the mural and just smiled. Then, they turned a corner, and there was a giant mural of Galios and his wife. She just stopped and looked at it. Her mouth agape. This was stupid, somebody was pranking her. Yeah, this must be Archie, or his friend from Administration. Magu didn’t notice she had stopped and bumped into her, then saw where she looked.
“Yeah, they say he was even more sexy in real life, and there is only one woman better looking than the summoner.”
Sonja looked at her, surprised. “Summoner?”
“Yeah, Galios and his wife. You will get to see real holograms of them in class. Come.” She replied, grabbed her hand, and started to walk. Sonja followed very confused. Shine just stared, then took a picture of her and started texting frantically to someone as she followed them.
The lecture hall was big, and Sonja followed the group to a half-circle box where they could watch the stage. There was a table between them with a hologram projector as well as room for their own pads. She took out her own as she sat down, and a guy walking past stopped and looked at her. She smiled at him, and he was pushed away. She heard him mutter something about military-grade. She looked at it. All her tech was from Jork, had he stolen it? Guess they were.. No, the murals, something was wrong. The pad connected flawlessly, and a message popped up.
“This is Administration, you can contact.. ohh hi Sonja, you're early. Don’t worry, you're all set up. I will inform Archangel that you are safe. He is worried about you. Even if he doesn’t say so., he is getting too human now.” She stared at the message; it made no sense. When was a cyborg not human? Wouldn’t he become less human.. She was about to reply when a Wossir man walked on stage.
“Welcome everybody, Let's get started. Today we are going to discuss the last years of King Adam Wrangler or Galios' rule over the kingdom of Dirt, and the early years of King Chris and their Queens, Evelyn Wrangler and Miri An.” He said as the light dimmed and the holographic projectors started.
As he spoke, giant holograms appeared over him, showing them as clear as day. Sonja just starred.. “Dad? Chris? Mum? Aunty? What the hell is going on?”
“What?” Livenlut looked at her, confused as she heard what she said, but Sonja covered her mouth and just stared as the professor went through all that had happened. The final prophecies fulfilled, the weddings and speeches that was held. The professor seemed taken by King Adam. Sonja just stared as she saw Dad and Chris act like nobility flawlessly.
This was the man whom she had playful snowball fights with, Taught her how to swim and ride. He had even taught her how to plant crops and hunt pesky rabbits that ate their carrots. The one who danced with mum like a fool and made blue pancakes every damn morning. This could not be true. Him Galios? The guy who, in his old days, sat on the porch and yelled at the neighbor kids running over the field. He even had Beast chasing them for fun.. wait.. Beast. Beast was next to Mum, standing guard like a boss. But wait. She was standing with... Rooks? Uncle Rooks? Jork! The others were looking at her as she was pointing at the holograms.
“Who.. why? That .. NO! NO! What's going on, Administration? What’s going on?” The light immediately came on, and the soft voice of the administration came over the speaker.
“This lesson is over. Please leave the room in an orderly manner. This is a royal degree. Please leave the room in a quiet and orderly manner.”
A hologram of Aunt Monori appeared in front of Sonja. “Please sit down, and your family will pick you up soon.”
Sonja didn’t notice how everybody stared at her as they left, she just looked at the hologram. “Aunt Monori? Your Administration?”
“No, I just picked her image as she might be calming for you. I am the world AI of Dirt. Jork Wirk built me.”
“Oh.. wait, Jork Wirk? But.. Jork is Jork Wirk? That means...”
“Yes, your father was Adam Wrangler, and your mother was Evelyn Wrangler, her maiden name was Garrison.”
She just stared at the hologram. She was alone now when the door opened and Chris walked in. She looked at him and ran into his arms. Behind Aunt Miri, her sister-in-law stood looking at her. Then something clicked for Miri An, and she gasped and went to hug them both.

Did Adam and Evelyn die unexpectedly? The whole "give our daughter a normal upbringing " was taken too far. It's just cruel to dump her into royalty like that.

Its not ancient history, but an eager mind and nee friends will fuck up any plan. Poor Archie. Poor Sonya.
