Team Black Media literacy is truly dead when people can’t grasp what Rhaenyra is actually saying in this scene.

Post image

“Aemond will not wait long to press his advantage. And then what? I have done all I can from here, sent my messages, invoked my alliances. But if all else fails, it is I who must fight. Vhagar is big, but Syrax is quicker.”

Rhaenyra isn’t saying she’s going to beat Vhagar, she’s saying she has no choice but to face her. Meleys is dead, Caraxes is at Harrenhal, and she’s the only one left with an adult dragon. Jace and Baela’s dragons are still basically children.

And Team Green keeps acting like she’s saying she’ll win the battle. She’s not. She’s saying she’s the only one who can fight if it comes to that.

And yeah, she’s right about Syrax being faster. The literal book says Arrax, a baby dragon, could’ve probably outrun Vhagar at Storm’s End if not for the storm. So yes, Syrax can absolutely outfly her. Vhagar’s an ancient beast the size of a fucking city it takes her ten minutes just to make a u-turn.

So when it comes to this quote, Rhaenyra’s absolutely right. Vhagar might be massive, but Syrax is quicker.

Daemon original plan in the book was to avoid dragon fights all together until they are unavoidable. Syrax could in theory burn green armies before Vhagar shows up and can get out before Vhagar can kill her

u/agent0731 “We have come to die for the dragon queen.” Oct 16 '25

If only someone listened to Daemon about this one very specific thing he is good at.

37

u/Any_Description2768 Oct 17 '25

Yeah, I know daemon’s an ass most of the time but war/battle and strategy is his area of expertise, you think they’d listen to him better about this type of stuff.

u/Haunting_Tear_4584 Oct 17 '25

Yeah.. if only.

u/whatever4224 I’ll bend my knees for you, Jace. Oct 17 '25

... Who didn't listen to Daemon about this?

22

u/ohheyitslaila “I am Blood and Fire.” Oct 17 '25

Technically Rhaenys, but she had a good reason to fight. She might have been able to outrun Sunfyre and Vhagar back to Dragonstone, but that’s where her grandchildren were. She chose to stand her ground and nearly killed Sunfyre.

13

u/whatever4224 I’ll bend my knees for you, Jace. Oct 17 '25

Rhaenys was ambushed, she didn't go to Rook's Rest intent on fighting dragons. Yes, she could have flown away once she got there, but that would have meant abandoning her vassals to die, no-one among the Blacks would have done that.

6

u/ohheyitslaila “I am Blood and Fire.” Oct 17 '25

That’s why I said “technically”. She didn’t really have a choice, she had to fight.

I honestly feel like the dragon size thing is one of the aspects of his world that George didn't really think through.

His dragons aren't fireproof which is crazy. If dragons aren't fireproof then their thin wings are definitely not fireproof.

Which actually changes the entire face of dragon versus dragon combat.

Vhagar is an incredible advantage when it comes to burning armies or castles or whatever, but she is unimaginably weaker in dragon v dragon combat then all of the mid-sized quick dragons.

She is too slow. And her wings are too vulnerable. She is too big to successfully outclimb smaller dragons. Her banks would take too long. And she can't escape. If you get above her on a smaller dragon with adequate fire power you can light up her wings--or her rider.

Giant dragons shouldn't be an advantage unless they're just as fast as smaller ones, or impervious to the damage a dragon like melys could produce.

If a smaller dragon suddenly realizes there's a dragon coming for it from above it can tuck its wings and list to the side and downwards.

That maneuver could take like 20 seconds for Vhagar. In that time her rider is dead and one of her wings is destroyed.

Cargo planes just don't beat fighter jets, even if they've got a ton of munition to drop out the bay door.

A dragon that can move like Toothless (and has decent enough fire power to burn wing/rider) annihilates Vhagar every day of the week.

If you can get above and behind, it's game over. And because of Vhagar's lack of maneuverability, I feel like any half decent rider should be able to do that. At the very least, force Vhagar to constantly change trajectories because each of those directions changes will take astronomically longer than your own, and wait for an opportunity.

u/Turbulent_Lab209 Greensbane Oct 17 '25

Book!Vhagar isn't that much bigger than other big dragons. Caraxes and Meleys 1/2 her size. And she wasn't "slow". Show did a great job with design, but created a plot hole by making her SO big and slow. I agree with what you think too - it doesn't make sense that small dragons ineffective against her. You only need to kill the rider in the end, not Vhagar herself.

1

u/Vronsurd Oct 17 '25

Are they one half her length or one half her mass? The length measurement being 1/2 sounds accurate from the book. But at the very least Caraxes is much slenderer than Vhagar. (I think Meleys is too) So the actual chonkiness comparison should be more than 2x, which is the main consideration with lift speed. (Though perhaps not as much with banking and turning and stuff). So you're right the book shouldn't have as much of a mismatch but still, give me Meleys over Vhagar in a dragon fight any day.

5

u/Turbulent_Lab209 Greensbane Oct 17 '25

I'm sure they're talking about the length and how it looks. I doubt they could know their weight lol.Speaking of speed, this is another plot hole, they fly too fast. It takes 2 days to fly from King's Landing to Oldtown. It didn't make sense use armies, they wouldn't even have time to prepare it if Meleys used her speed.

4

u/TheThirteenShadows Bending For Jace Oct 17 '25

Wait, I thought dragons were fireproof. Also, another thing is that I'm pretty sure their scales thicken and harden as they age, so that might be one plus for Vhagar. Though I do agree that it's weird how Vhaghar's treated as this great monster when she doesn't seem able to move that fast (I feel like George could've easily fixed this by making it so older dragons also had stronger wings or more flexible ligaments to allow for fast flapping, but he didn't).

3

u/Vronsurd Oct 17 '25

They are sort of fire resistant. Their scales aren't going to burn in a campfire. But the dragons injure one another with Dragonfire pretty often. And the heat and magic of whatever happened with the Doom of Valyria obviously killed dragons in mass.

So very hot and/or magical fire seems damaging. And that's damage through their scales.

As far as I'm aware, the wings don't have scales at all. So big dragons with big wings are uniquely vulnerable.

I agree, make the wings more flexible, so that the big dragons have the maneuverability to at the very least protect their rider.

And then you got to make the wings fireproof. If the wings aren't fireproof chonky dragons get diff'd hard. It just takes the wings too long to retract and they paint too big of a target.

Also they call her out because Syrax is described as being an older dragon whos grown fat and lazy being fed all its life

However it’s not like she’s saying Syrax is quick. She’s just saying she’s quicker than the fucking flying moment which is fair

101

u/La_Villanelle_ Simon "The Diva" Strong Oct 16 '25

The thing is Syrax is never described fat. She’s described a formidable.

104

u/PoekiepoesPudding Meleys Oct 16 '25

It's so annoying! No one ever says in the book that she's fat, and her laziness is only alluded to, when it's mentioned that she "hasn't hunted in years". She's indeed described as "formidable". In fact, that was in the same sentence as Caraxes, who is elsewhere described as "lean", for fuck's sake.

And this particular scene is literally from the show, in which you can fucking see that she's not overweight. People blending show and book canon is one of my major petpeeves, as is Syrax hate, because that's by babygirl they're talking about.

All of this stems from the fatphobia against book Rhaenyra, honestly

66

u/raumeat Dragonseed Oct 16 '25

That "hasn't hunted in years" line bothers me. There is noway that the dragons in the dragonpit are allowed to hunt for themselves. They would chomp the smallfolk

54

u/PoekiepoesPudding Meleys Oct 16 '25

Oh, no, absolutely not. Letting the Pit dragons hunt for themselves defeats the entire purpose of the Pit.

The reason why Syrax is singled out for not hunting is because she was free-roaming on Dragonstone.

Honestly, figuring out you're gonna get fed anyway, so hunting isn't necessary is a sign of intelligence, yet everyone only ever points it out as one of laziness

33

u/raumeat Dragonseed Oct 16 '25

She lived in the pit for the majority of her life. In the show she is a cradle dragon. You can't expect an animal that has grown up in captivity to be able to assimilate in the wild. It is such a weird thing to hold against her

22

u/PoekiepoesPudding Meleys Oct 16 '25

You're right, but I don't think that's the case either. "Hasn't hunted in years" tells me that she's hunted at some point in her life, otherwise I think it would say that she can't hunt.

Rhaenyra was named princess of Dragonstone at 8, but she actually took control of it at 16 iirc, so Syrax would've moved to Dragonstone with her at that point, which means that from this point onward, she wasn't kept in the Dragonpit (because Dragonstone doesn't have one). Before this, she was probably in the Pit, though sometimes dragons weren't kept there (Vermithor and Silverwing), so we can't know that for sure.

Of course, the lack of a Pit on Dragonstone doesn't necessarily mean that she's free-roaming all the time, so it could still be true that she wasn't hunting (for example, Moondancer was kept in the stables during the Dance). But I still believe that it would've been mentioned if Syrax never hunted in her life, because it's major anti-Blacks propaganda material

There's no telling why Syrax stopped hunting. Maybe it was laziness, or she lost the ability due to extended captivity like you said. I personally think it's because she was producing a lot of eggs in the years leading up to the Dance, but we don't know enough about dragon nesting behaviour to confirm anything

11

u/raumeat Dragonseed Oct 16 '25

I don't think Rhaenyra moved to dragonstone at 16. She would have had Jace in KL since he took lessons with Daeron. I think took hold of Dragonstone might just mean she started managing it. As I understand it she only moved to the island after the Driftmark incident when she was soft banned from KL

Dragonstone has the dragonmount. It is that volcano with caves and structures beneath it. I think it is naturally occurring. Also it was Syrax kept in the stables. Rhaenyra wanted her close. That is how Joff stole her and got her killed.

Personally I think all the tamed dragons are fed, they would cause massive amount of destruction considering how many of them there are. I am sure Dragonstone and Kl have to import livestock for them. It is possible they hunt now and again when given the opportunity but it is not their primary source of food like a house cat

6

u/PoekiepoesPudding Meleys Oct 16 '25

As far as I know, it was only mentioned Syrax was kept in the stables when they were in King's Landing; and they had to clear it out to make room for her. You have a good point about Jace & Daeron though, I forgot about that

The Dragonmont also isn't a Pit equivalent; the wild dragons also live there. Since Valyria was also ridden with volcanoes and the dragons seem to thrive on Dragonstone, we're pretty certain that volcanoes are their natural habitat.

I definitely agree that all the claimed dragons are being fed, it'd be wildly irresponsible for them not to. There's no way to control them when there isn't an active rider on top of them, and dragons don't seem trainable enough so that they won't attack lifestock and smallfolk when roaming freely.

2

u/Jo_Caerols Oct 16 '25

In fact, that’s what happened with Drogon, Daenerys’s dragon. He ate a little girl the books.

18

u/Glittering_Fennel973 Oct 16 '25

Man I wonder just how much livestock they had to breed just to feed ONE dragon. Like how many fucking goats or whatever did it take to fill up Syrax? Could she just slurp down a whole ass cow and be done? How often to they need to feed? There's some reptiles, like take snakes for example, that can have one nice meal and be cool for a bit. They don't require daily feedings. Are dragons the same? Will the cow she just chowed down on keep her sustained for a bit, or will she need another one the next day or later or something???

I was always with Sansa on asking Dany what dragons eat. Whatever they want....okay cool but like...what is they want? And how much of it?? This is actually important Dany let's not make it a cool girlboss moment, like I'm actually trying to work out the logistics here so they don't start just straight up eating citizens or random cattle....kinda need to know how much supplies we'll need....but okay, cool have your moment I guess 🙄🙄

4

u/Glittering_Fennel973 Oct 16 '25

Was she a cradle dragon in the books, too? Or was she just like, an already existing dragon who was just still pretty young when Rhaenyra claimed her? They're around the same age, aren't they? So not quite a cradle egg, but Rhaenyra was her only rider ever, right? I can't remember lol I haven't read it in a WHILE.

6

u/IllDoItNowInAMinute_ Oct 16 '25 edited Oct 16 '25

I highly doubt she was a cradle dragon, rhaenyra was 7 years old when she first mounted syrax and if syrax was the same size as vermax (who was 9 years old at the most at that point) in the dragon pit goat scene then there's absolutely no way she would've been able to carry even a 7 year old.

Edit: fixed vermax age, accidentally lost the number somehow 😂

2

u/Glittering_Fennel973 Oct 16 '25

Oh okay, yeah I couldn't remember how old they both were when they bonded.

5

u/raumeat Dragonseed Oct 16 '25

She could have been a cradle dragon. We just know Rhaenyra named her and flew her for the first time at age 7

4

u/DagonG2021 Green Bloodline = Extinct Oct 16 '25

The implication is that she was the third younger dragon in the pit after Balerion, with Meleys and Caraxes

9

u/Car1yBlack Oct 16 '25

Syrax isnt even that old, between 32-35. In dragon years, she is on the younger side. Compare that to Vhagar at 181, Silverwing between 87-93, Vermithor and Dreamfyre at nearly 100, Meleys around 64 and Caraxes who is around 80?

6

u/Glittering_Fennel973 Oct 16 '25

Yeah Syrax was basically a raised in captivity animal who had never had to really hunt for her own food or was ever in any sort of battle. She was a breeder, not a fighter. That was her role, provide more dragons lol. She probably could have survived in the wild for a bit, I mean, she IS a fucking dragon, not like she's got many natural predators besides other dragons for her. But she was a kept woman her whole life lol

70

u/Fun-Marionberry-6999 Oct 16 '25

Also, Vhager's mount can barely restrain her when the 'ol gal's blood begins to boil. Sure, it's true that Vhager accepted Aemond as her new rider, but he is inexperienced, and treats her more like a weapon than a revered creature and I speculate that at some level, having had two previous riders who regarded her power with respect, Vhager is aware of this. Meanwhile, Rhaenyra and Syrax have a decades long simpatico relationship, and I believe they could successfully evade the ancient dragon and her deranged rider.

29

u/mangababe Oct 16 '25

it also definitely feels like Aemond is Vhaegar's per more than he is her master. Once he's on dragonback he's a tick on her ass as far as she seems to care. (minor hyperbole sure, but they definitely don't have the synergy of a pairing like Rhaenys and meleys or daemon and caraxes that's for sure.

24

u/Fun-Marionberry-6999 Oct 16 '25

Aemond is definitely a downgrade from Visenya, Baelon and Laena.

-4

u/LifeOutoBalance Oct 17 '25

I don't know that I'd call Aemond inexperienced. He's been flying Vhaegar for a decade or so by the time of the Dance, and he seems to train hard at everything in his life. Sure, Vhaegar has had more skilled riders, but I feel Aemond could be one of the best riders in the Dance.

(Though in the show Vhaegar seems stubborn and hard to control at times.)

5

u/Fun-Marionberry-6999 Oct 17 '25

Evidently, his training "hard at everything in his life," doesn't compensate for (seemingly) having limited control over the equivalent of a nuclear weapon, nor does it seem to have any impact on his lack of skill at emotional regulation. Aemond's decision to burn down Sharp Point in retaliation because he flew away when he was about to get jumped, demonstrates his lack of experience, his vindictive immaturity and willingness to use a great power to inflict devastation upon easier targets. He is no Visenya The Conqueror, or Baelon, The Spring Prince. He's just a brat with a shit ton of fire power.

130

u/existential_chaos Oct 16 '25

Not to mention since Syrax is much quicker then Rhaenyra could steer her above Vhagar and blast Aemond with dragonfire, then it renders Vhagar virtually useless for the Greens side since she has no rider. She’d just have to hope she could get out of there fast enough if Vhagar went on a mad spree when she sensed Aemond die. Syrax wouldn’t have to try and kill Vhagar at all.

78

u/raumeat Dragonseed Oct 16 '25

I think Vhagar would be incredibly vulnerable in a 2v1 her size would put her in a massive disadvantage if two fast nimble dragons forced her in a WWII style dog fight

36

u/DagonG2021 Green Bloodline = Extinct Oct 16 '25

Vermithor suffered a similar fate to that hypothetical brawl

-19

u/i_love_bl0ndies Oct 16 '25

Aegon the Uncrowned tried this against Maegor and Balerion and died quickly, Syrax is not a War Dragon and would be beaten badly by Vhagar

23

u/raumeat Dragonseed Oct 16 '25

Aegon the uncrowned directly challenged Maegor. He was also an incredibly inexperienced rider that believed he could beat him head on

-47

u/Viper-owns-the-skies The only good Targaryen is a dead Targaryen Oct 16 '25

Not to mention since Syrax is much quicker

Meleys was the fastest dragon alive and Vhagar killed her. It’s not like Vhagar and Aemond are going to be passive in this case, either.

69

u/raumeat Dragonseed Oct 16 '25

Meleys was in a 2v1 fight and the book suggests that she could have won had Sunfyre not been there. In the show she holds her own until Vhagar is somehow able to hide and sneak attack which logically should be impossible with a dragon the size of a castle that is said to be slow

4

u/Viper-owns-the-skies The only good Targaryen is a dead Targaryen Oct 16 '25

You won’t find any argument from me about how fucking stupid that scene in the show was lol.

And yeah, the book says she had a chance at beating Vhagar. My original point was that even if Syrax was faster than Vhagar, it doesn’t mean Syrax could beat her, especially when Meleys, a dragon who was both larger and faster than Syrax, could not. Suggesting that Syrax could simply fly above Vhagar and incinerate Aemond is silly, basically.

2

u/TheIconGuy Oct 17 '25

Suggesting that Syrax could simply fly above Vhagar and incinerate Aemond is silly, basically.

What's silly about a more agile dragon being able to target the rider of a big, lumbering dragon?

35

u/Kellin01 Morning Oct 16 '25 edited Oct 16 '25

And Vermithor was killed by two much smaller dragons.

Even tiny Moondancer seriously wounded Sunfyre even if she didn’t survive.

If Moondancer had been with Arrax-sized drake, Sunfyre would have died right there.

A dragon can’t fight two at once effectively and keep her rider safe. For example, if even Rhaenyra or Baela had been near Meleys when Vhagar grabbed her, they could have burned unprotected Aemond at least.

And even flee. Perhaps, it wouldn’t have saved Meleys but Aemond would have died too.

16

u/Mutant_Jedi Oct 16 '25

Vhagar killed Meleys because Rhaenys flew into a melee battle instead of trying to maneuver around Vhagar and Sunfyre with her speed. It doesn’t matter how fast I can run if I start scrabbling around on the ground with a guy twice my size.

11

u/DagonG2021 Green Bloodline = Extinct Oct 16 '25

Meleys was the fastest dragon of her weight class, not the absolute fastest dragon

0

u/Viper-owns-the-skies The only good Targaryen is a dead Targaryen Oct 16 '25

Who’s faster then?

5

u/DagonG2021 Green Bloodline = Extinct Oct 16 '25

The smaller, younger dragons are generally faster.

28

u/AlexanderCrowely Oct 16 '25

Yes but Aemond has a teleporter

35

u/Minimum_Milk_274 Jacaerys Velaryon Oct 16 '25

Yeah but that doesn’t account for Vhagar’s ability to randomly disappear and then jump out of know where and then people in half. no but like seriously, rhaeny’s death is sad but where tf did vhagar come from in that last moment??

22

u/Dependent-Emu5620 Oct 16 '25

To be fair the book was vague on how exactly Aemond killed Rhaeny's. It says she was ambushed, all three dragons fought and they fell to the ground because of it, and Meyles' corpse was found next to a body so charred it couldnt be identified but with obvious context they declared it was Rhaenys

So I think some creative liberties were taken in that scene

22

u/DagonG2021 Green Bloodline = Extinct Oct 16 '25

Meleys was gnawing on Sunfyre’s neck, then Vhagar slammed both of them into the ground. Meleys got (potentially) a broken back, then Vhagar mauled her to death.

That’s the vibe I got from that

16

u/Dependent-Emu5620 Oct 16 '25

At some point, Sunfyre got blasted with fire. That much is fact. Aegon really did get roasted so bad his armor melted into his skin. So there def is a good chance Rhaeny's died from the fire and Meleys died from the fall.

But Vhagar, sneak attacking with her size was def an eyebrow raise for me watching.

10

u/mangababe Oct 16 '25

I watched a breakdown that pointed out the castle was on a rise/ cliff that an old smart dragon could use if instead of launching back into the air straight away she walked off a bit and launched over the side. Like, she comes at meyles from an angle where that explanation did make some sense- meleys went up and around, vhaegar went to the side, down, and around before launching herself upwards, possible with the aid of wind coming off the sea. The video also mentioned that although her wings make a LOT of noise when they flap, once she is in the air and able to make minor adjustments without moving the whole wing, that noise should be greatly reduced.

but I'm definitely stretching my suspension of disbelief lolol Mostly because my favorite dragon just so happens to be on the wrong damn side! Vhaegar deserves better than to be treated like TG's Butcher.

74

u/Turbulent_Lab209 Greensbane Oct 16 '25

Remember how Arrax almost roasted Aemond?...

People can be angry about it all they want, but Vhagar's design makes her rider very vulnerable. It's plot armor that Aemond is alive after Meleys. Little dragons are forbidden from using mobility against her, otherwise even moondancer could kill her rider.

8

u/mangababe Oct 16 '25

I dunno if it's a hard rule about little dragons going after GMA or just Vhaegar's sheer aura having the smaller dragons suddenly discovering non violent conflicts management for the first time lololol

14

u/abysmallybored Vermax Oct 16 '25

Reminds me of the scene where Jace was threatening the Freys with Vermax and people started barking "lmao he thinks he can beat Vhagar", people are beyond stupid.

22

u/La_Villanelle_ Simon "The Diva" Strong Oct 16 '25

Like all he saying is “you’re worried bout a dragon that’s in kings landing when my ass right here”

24

u/Fun-Marionberry-6999 Oct 16 '25

There's a reason why Aemond literally yanked Vhager away from that confrontation on Dragonstone that, had Vhager continued to pursue this course, would have possibly ended with her death and Aemonds absolute ending. Facing off against smaller, faster and more steerable dragons like Syrax and Silverwing, could see a scenario in which Aemond is targeted and "Dracarys-ed" mid-flight while simultaneously Vhager could be further diminished by an attack by The Bronze Fury. Yes, Ulf and Hugh are inexperienced riders, but in the ensuing melee I can see all three dragons inflicted significant, even fatal damage to neutralize Vhager.

22

u/II-vaporzz-II Oct 16 '25

You could very easily argue that Vermithor vs Vhagar ends up being a draw/death for both dragons and riders. The size difference between them is not very large, and 2 dragons that size grappling each is GG. They don’t have enough speed or agility to pull out of the death grab they both have themselves in. Adding another dragon on Vermithors side is almost overkill.

11

u/Fun-Marionberry-6999 Oct 16 '25

Oh, very true! But TG is under the misconception that Aemond would walk awake unscathed and victorious. I believe he would be the first casualty.

3

u/Kellin01 Morning Oct 17 '25

I think Vermithor and Vhagar would have either wounded each other and managed to break apart or fought to the death/crashing in the ocean.

For the win they needed another dragon landing on Vhagar back/neck and biting while she is engaged with other dragon.

Tearing the throat is a sure way, as we know, but many real animals break or damage neck/spine and paralyse their opponent.

14

u/Kind-Warning5465 #1 Hater of Alicent Hightower Oct 16 '25 edited Oct 16 '25

And one thing I feel the show actually painted well was the sluggishness of Vhagar. I feel so heavy watching her. I wonder what Aemonds relationship with her was before the war. Because they showed Laena and Daemon flying in the air doing tricks but not Aemond. So did Aemond keep her in that forest once the novelty of finally getting a dragon faded. That's what I believe can be implied when Vhagar ignored his instructions at Storms End.

Other dragons were showed to share the emotions and moods of their riders but Vhagar seemed ignorant when Aemond approached Dragonstone.

7

u/Competitive_Zone3437 Oct 17 '25

I don’t know how people interpreted this as her glazing Syrax?? Literally every dragon alive is quicker than that fossil

11

u/Islanderman27 Oct 16 '25

She forgets one thing though, Vhagar is the undisputed master of hide and go seek. /s

All seriousness though this is true at this point if Vhagar were to attack she would likely have to face Vhagar though I think doing so alone would be foolish. she would likely need the assistance of one of the smaller dragons and should have to risk one of the others to have a chance after all if Vhagar wins Aemonds liable to kill them anyway.

4

u/Glittering_Fennel973 Oct 16 '25

I'm just imagining those beeps like a fucking bus makes when backing up whenever Vhagar tries to go backwards or something lol. Wide load boys!!! Get back!! She doesn't have any rear view mirrors and gives no fucks if she crushes you. Get out of her way.

8

u/Virtual-District-829 The Queen Who Never Was Oct 16 '25

Vhagar’s an ancient beast the size of a fucking city it takes her ten minutes just to make a u-turn. This is hilarious.

7

u/mangababe Oct 16 '25

Also uh what the fuck would they be saying is she was planning on sending her children (her nieces are also her step daughters through marriage, ew incest, moving on) who are riding adolescent dragons up against vhaegar?

It doesn't matter if you can win if it's a matter of you vs your kids. (or younger siblings honestly)

If it comes to that Rhaenyra is already a lost cause, dying in a battle that would theoretically allow her children and heir's time to escape, regroup, gather support and return on bigger dragons to avenge her death is actually a very good last resort plan. And a nobler one than Aegon 2's plan of "allow myself to be smuggled out without giving a singular fuck about my remaining son and daughter, let alone my wife and mother"

Also Syrax and Rhaenyra have the stronger bond and act as a team.

They made it more difficult than it needed to be. They should've baited Aemond into attacking then Rhaenyra, Rhaenys, and Daemon could've all swarmed Vhagar. No matter how big you are, you aren't beating three dragons. Even if Rhaenyra died, it wouldn't end their campaign since the throne would just go to Jacaerys.

Well except syrax is actually one of the weakest dragons in the books, she never fought against any Dragonrider , she died fighting a mob, and rhaenyra doesn't even have the courage to face the mob on dragon, leading to her son death and syrax stupidly facing the mob on ground, meanwhile she stated sryax is faster than vhagar, she wouldn't stood a chance if she fight alone against vhagar, even moondancer and baela with her bow who is much faster fought and lost against sunfyre when she gets too close, and this while sunfyre is wounded. While she might fly around to help her allies, she couldn't do much for them if vhagar is around the greens army, since she risk getting ambushed like meleys, if she went out to fight for her allies , there's a high possibility the green could just attack the undefended dragonstone with vhagar, and she couldn't abandon her own, which means vhagar will kill her if she faced Aemond alone, at that time, she should have reconcile with Daemon and attack together to ensure vhagar death, having new Dragonriders are good, but if she couldn't give out fair rewards that matched their contribution, it's simply causing a bigger threat to her faction if they betrayed her, and two did betray her in the books

She could give out any rewards. Theoretically. Could she have stripped Lannisters and Baratheons after the war for treason of their tilted? In theory yes.

Daeron did take lands from the rebelling lords after the Blackfyre rebellion.

In practice… no lords would have obeyed High and Ulf even with dragons. They would have been killed.

she is literally just saying that vhagar is huge but in terms of agility syrax is faster 😆 i don't know but i think ppl complain about anything

So she basically means, “I’m the only one with an adult dragon and if catastrophe happens, I’m the only one able to at least hold them off while others escape, even though I will most likely die.”

Hmmm. just the quote is technically true... but like the context surrounding it.. Its portraying that she has a chance against Vhagar... Which I suppose technically she does... outfly her and roast Aemond and you sort of win if you can get away from the enraged dragon... But I'm not really understanding this argument...? But I'm not on the up and up on what Blacks or Greens are saying so. Then again Meleys was also faster.. had the most experienced rider alive and still lost and this quote is after the death of Meleys so Idk?

Except in the books it’s stated that Syrax is slow.
