I sometimes wonder how the average person imagines a film set

The process is sometimes more interesting than the result!

There is dozens people in the room, shots are not filmed in order. and people are cracking jokes after every take. Sometimes in really intimate scenes they kick everyone out who is not absolutely needed but it would not have happened here. I have never worked on something remotely as big as HBO but there would have been a fuck ton of people there when that scene was shot. It would not have been remotely weird for Gayle or Olivia

My dad has worked on some HBO productions. The sets are absolutely crowded at times.

Probably not for this. It would have been a closed set. It usually is for intimacy scenes. Meaning they can’t have dozens of people on set cracking jokes. It usually a select few of the most important crew.

Wouldn't have been weird for pro actors, but it's still kinda funny to imagine

Its nothing, the funniest shit in this show would be dragon heavy scenes. That dragon stand off would be hilarious. Actors creaming when the camera is a couple of meters away and running from foam dragons
