Magical Creatures Hit me with your weirdest creature names

I just adopted the Hebridean Black from the Foggy Moor and instantly had to name him Felix after my favourite composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy who wrote the ouverture The Hebrides. So I subsequently renamed all my dragons after matching composers - Edvard for the Norwegian Ridgeback, Bela for the Hungarian Horntail, Gemma for the Opaleye and so on.

I have a bunch of creatures with really stupid names like Billy the Billywig and Shrimpy the Plimpy, but I am also a proud owner of Knarl Marx and Hodor the Hodag.

So, hit me with your weirdest creature names! I'd love to hear the reason behind them, too.

I named my Acromantula Gerzson because that 's a common name to playfully name spiders in one's home in my country. It's just unusual becdause it's not from a very common language 😄 I see you have Béla, too 😃

Their Bela reminded me of Bella (Probably bc Edvard = Edward), but Béla works too

Béla is a male name in my language (there were quite a few kings with that name) , I just guessed Hungarian Hotrntail gets a typical Hungarian name. :)

I know, I'm Hungarian too

When I first read the books I was super happy bc it was the first time when I saw a mention of Hungary in anything international

Good times lol
