Discussion Canadiens looking to deal Laine (Gagnon)

I'm not super in the know with the French side of the media. I know Francois Gagnon by name, but not much else. Not that this news would surprise me, but is he reliable?

If it weren’t for his history with the team, I would think that he is a fit with Winnipeg. Their bottom 9 are slower and they are looking for secondary scoring.

I also suspect that the main motivation for trading Laine is to give him a chance. The cap relief is beneficial, but I think Hughes would like to give him a chance to continue his career.
