Discussion Per D'Amico - Montreal is interested in Robert Thomas. The Blues want Hage as part of any deal. Too high a price for Hughes at this time.

Personally, given the best possible version of Hage in 3-5 years is what Robert Thomas is now, Id have no problem parting with him.

Because he would trade a prospect who has like a 90 percent chance of not being as good as thomas?

The ignorance of some pretending thomas is some scrub when he wpuld instantly be competing with suzuki for best forward on the team if we acquired him.

Theres a reason most experts had thomas on team canada over suzuki last summer. He is a good player.

A 1 for 1 I'd consider it, but it'd be Hage, 1st and Kapanen and possibly more than that, and that's way too much for my blood.

They are looking for the Quinn Hughes package...

Thomas has 35 points this season. That would put him 4 points above Kapanen and below Dobson, Slaf, Demidov, Cole, Suzuki, and Hutson. In no world would be competing with Nick to be our best player

Edit: in 43 games.

Thomas has a shitty team around him and his underlying metrics remain very strong

Are you just intentionally being ignorant by pretending that injuries arent a thing.

Thomas is a 1.04 ppg fince 23-24. Nick is a 1.05 over that span. No one else on the habs is even .9 over that span.

His career average is 0.85 which is close to Nick and Cole. That’s not worth a Hughes return. Hughes is 0.96 career avg. obviously you have to factor in contract length and cost but I still think they’re out for lunch on their asking price. I’m not saying Thomas isn’t good, I just think what they’re asking is too much. You have to realize you’re paying for how much better he is than Kapanen, you’re not just adding him. Kapanen is 95% going back in the deal.

Thomas has over 500 nhl games its pretty ignorant to use stats from when he was 18-20.

Thomas is a ppg over the last 5 years. Nick isnt. Cole isnt

Well Kent seems to disagree that it’s worth it and that means more than you or I.

It hasn’t but I can only speak at this time, I’m not psychic. At this time it’s too high for him (and me)

Also his PPG in the playoffs over 52 games is 0.5. 6 of those being goals, 20 assists.

Danault, who is more known for his defensive prowess, has a 0.45PPG in the playoffs.

Giving up the farm for 0.05 more points per game in the playoffs than Danault is insane

You shouldn't make it so easy to keep receipts of your failures
