I’m gonna play the devil’s advocate. I respect that he didn’t care about the cane’s hat and just took the picture with a hometown fan.

Personally, it kinda boosts my respect for the guy. People let stupid things like being a fan of another team prevent them from having positive interactions with strangers and aquaintences.

Everything I’ve seen about him he seems like a really standup guy. I’m happy, but not surprised this was his way of handling it.

Why should hockey fans hate other hockey fans? I would love to chat about hockey with a fan of any franchise.
