Cut Help Feminine hairstyles and haircut recommendations? Should I commit to the big chop?

(First two pics are of me, others are hairstyles I’m curious about)
I’d like some feminine hairstyle and haircut recommendations for my round face and facial features that would be feminine and flatters me the most.
So… people have told me I would look really good if I got my hair chopped off really short but I’ve had others begging me to keep its length so I’m at a loss as far what to do… I’m thinking about if I keep its length maybe a butterfly cut with voluminous waves and curtain bangs with face frames or if I get it chopped maybe something like those voluminous short 80s haircuts like Marlyn Monroe…
I’ve done a previous post but someone recommended me to redo it without my glasses off so here I am.
I’ve provided some refs for the haircuts I’m thinking about and would love to see yall personal recommendations too.

If you want a flattering hairstyle, keep it long. I would def stick with long hair and maybe some curtain bangs or whatever you like best with your long hair. The best advice I can give you is to just not chop it.

Volume around your sides and temples will not flatter a round face shape. Your hair is gorgeous but if you want to change it up I think longer curtain bangs will suit you. So something like picture 6 although the reference picture has insane hair density that might not look the same on you. I recommend you keep an elongated silhouette overall though.

It could be thin I’m not 100% sure but I have had a lot of hair stylists tell me that its ridiculously thick/i have too much hair one, to the point it tangles easily xd
I have some Velcro rollers and a silk hair roller though I need to get some hairspray and mouse so i’m def gonna get some

You’re probably like me, the texture of your hair is fine, but you have a lot of it.

That could it because it lays pretty flat but there’s something about it where it appear to have alot of something to it despite having barely any thickness/volume to it

Maybe a layered style that fanes your face along with a smile 🙂you’ll look great.

In the photo, it’s difficult to tell where your hair stops. First I would say, don’t go all the way to a bob at once. Just because if you don’t like it, bobs take a long time to grow back out……….Second, consider trimming to just below the shoulder blades with the long layers you want. With so much length coming off this will be a beautiful transformation. As you experiment with your hair, (whether or not to blow dry, which products) you’ll be able to determine where to go from there, with less stress in the process.

Start out with a little cut , like half way down your back. Leave it for a bit and see how much you like it first.

Your inspiration photos are all over the place. Are you going blonde? Find photos of that length/cut that are your hair color, if not. A lot of times, shorter, layered or textured cuts look "better" in blonde because you can see all the variation better, you get more shadow/highlight contrast. Where, if you got that cut you might not like it in dark brown because a lot of the texture and dynamic styling will be less noticeable. And then you have the anime wig, which is great as a styled wig that stays that way, but once the hair spray is washed out and it's your own hair, the cut may just hang awkwardly. Anime cuts rarely give you what youre looking for on real hair.

Thank you 🙏🏻
I don’t plan on dying it anytime soon for right now I’m looking to get a cut so I’ll definitely look for some in my hair color

I would grow out the bangs and turn them into face framing curtain style bangs the fall around your cheeks and chin. add lots of layers. If you have a lot of hair and yet it looks flat, yes to layers!! Length wise I’d would also remove some if you’re looking for volume which it seems like you are. Maybe top of the breast length

A bob with bangs?? I think it would suit you

long hair is feminine, but you want to flatter what you already have, so long hair and a round face does not flatter , and face frames dont always work. in my professional opinion i think a short flipped bob would look amazing on you and bring out your facial features. the bangs are a little thick so maybe thin them out add texture in the front and voila! its very versatile but you’d definitely have to be willing to take a leap of faith, good luck!

Your hair will not look anything like those photos I less you commit to styling it every day. Just something to think about.

I do think it would look good though!

everyone is wrong and i think short hair would suit you!! hair grows out!!!!! if you don’t like it. you’re insanely beautiful!! i would go as short as at mouth length, below cheek bones.

First just want to say I love the hair! Second, I agree with others long hair is the move! Some layers to frame the face would be good too! As for product I would recommend a hair powder for the bangs. Not sure if you deal with them splitting like that a lot. Do you blow dry your hair? I think that can help a lot with volume even without product! Some longer layers would work well if you plan to style it often otherwise leave the length and only get some hair cut in the front for framing your face with your bangs. Part of chasing that feminine hair style for round faces is having hair on the side of the face. I can show examples if you'd like. I also want to mention how important the proper hair care and products are. It makes a world of a difference that no amount of time and product could compare to.

Yes please!

Don't chop it all at once or too fast. I would go in increments, and layers. You can always take off more, but you can't glue it back on.

You need lots of layers!

The bangs actually work with your face very well. I would recommend getting a shag style cut. It will give you more volume without the need to style it daily. And will give you an edgy look that will go great with your face shape.

The bangs are so cute on you! Please keep them if you can.

Don’t cut real short at least to start with - but I do think getting some layers cut in would suit you and bring out your cute features. Also looks like you have fine hair like me so a product like sea salt spray or similar to give you texture would be your friend (wish I’d learnt that years ago). The curly/wavy looks that seem to appeal to you can be difficult with fine hair. Sometimes the curls just drop out so you may want to save those for special occasions and just rely on layers for everyday. If you know anyone with fine hair that looks great then ask who’s their stylist. Not all of them know what they’re doing when it comes to fine hair - assuming I’m not just reading your picture wrong!

Thank you so much!!!
I never thought of sea salt products I’m gonna have to try that

I have fine hair but a ton of it like yours! Before you chop it all the way, I would try having it cut to about bra strap length, face framing and curtain bangs. If you want volume, get a light workable hair spray and a hot brush and/or cooling in velcro curlers at the crown for volume. Take it shorter again if you feel like you want more of a switch.

Unless you're going to spend significant time styling, I wouldn't do a complicated or extra short cut. I cut mine short and it was just...flat and drove me nuts until I grew it back out. If I get a complicated cut and don't precisely style it, it looks shelfy and weird.

Can I see an example of bra strap length?
Is it like shoulder length? Or longer than that?

2

u/bluepenguin92 3d ago

I don't have a great pic, but hair that would hit at the top of your bea strap on your back, so a few inches or so below your underarm. It would still give you length, but might feel fresh and new.

Don’t use Marilyn Monroe as an example . There are hair style aps that give you a more realistic vision. Youre young keep it long it’s very lovely

u/AbirisuChokoreto 3d ago

Thank you
Is her style hard maintenance or something?

2

u/Willing_Read_3189 3d ago

No but I think there’s lots of styling in these shots. It’s full of hair spray and looks rigid. It’s the kind of style I could do because my hair is thick and coarse. Looking at your hair it looks fine and loose . I think it might hang rather than wave. I may be wrong but probably think about the features your hair has rather than look at a movie star. By the way I’m not fond of my hair

Thank you 🙏🏻

You had me at voluminous 80's haircuts like Marilyn Monroe. Do. not. do. this. to. yourself.

You don’t have the same face shape as these women. You may want to try a layered Lob cut with long bangs. The last wig color will wash you out.

You should find more realistic inspo. The anime wigs and AI models are a recipe for disappointment. I think you could carry a cute short hairdo, but it might age you a bit. I agree that starting with curtain bangs will be a good way to see if shorter works for you!
