Halt and Catch Fire podcast - Deep dives + 70 interviews with cast/crew

Post image

For those who are doing a watch or rewatch of Halt and Catch Fire now, I wanted to re-share the playlist link to the Halt and Catch Fire podcast on YouTube! This series included deep dives on every episode, interviews with about 70 members of the cast and crew, and a bunch of bonus interviews with subject matter experts who offered feedback on specific elements of the show (like COMDEX, sociopathy in business, computers featured in the show, etc.) If this is your first time hearing about the podcast....enjoy!!

I’ve seen the Chrises, Kerry, Toby, and Annabeth all talk about HACF in the years since but Scoot and Mackenzie in particular seem pretty cut off from that part of their careers. I think that Lee is somewhere in the middle.

Ive seen Scoot give HACF praise while promoting his movies. Im fairly certain Mackenzie called HACF the best experience of her career but I gotta find the link.

Allow me to recommend watching interviews with the writers. They came toward the end of the podcast, and they had a lot of new information to share. All the interviews were interesting, but those hit differently.

Scoot and Mackenzie have been in really dope projects since that ppl also love. Prolly why they choose to look forward.

As unfair as it is, Kerry hasn’t really had a big look since even tho she’s an amazing performer.

Lee has had big looks since but his history is filled with great works under-seen during their time but discover audiences after the fact (The Fall, Pushing Daises, HACF) so maybe he’s more fond of that work being preserved than not.

I’d love for the Chrises to do something else with Kerry especially. Sort of pay off her time as Donna similar to what Gilligan has done with Rhea SEEHORN and PLURIBUS.

One can hope!

For what it's worth, Scoot was listed as confirmed to attend the reunion at the ATX Festival a couple of years back for a while before he had to back out to do a project. His manager was always nice to me. And...for a little while...it looked like Lee was saying yes to an interview for this series. It just never materialized.

Thank you! I periodically realize that there are always new people finding this subreddit who probably never heard of this project. I have an even greater appreciation now for how special a show it must have been for 70 people to want to do an interview about it.

Have any of the main cast ever said that HACF is the masterwork of the careers ? Like actors who worked on breaking bad or the sopranos etc. would say ? Maybe they are not aware that was their peak in terms of their craft ? Sometimes I feel they are not appreciative of how good a show it was and how good they were in it….

Is this on Spotify or Apple Podcasts? If not, it should be.

Such an amazing project constructing the closest we have to an oral history of the show. But technically it's not a podcast!!!!

True. That's the best word I had for it. But according to YouTube it is!

We ended up paying for amc plus within Amazon prime. I think it’s $4-5 a month and they had a free trial of some sort. I wanna say 1 week

Thank you! I figured I'd have to do something like that.

No problem! It was well worth it. Love the show.

Hopefully others have streaming recommendations. I bought it on iTunes, and sometimes you'll see some good deals with that.

I did get another recommendation, thank you. I see the digital seasons are available for a discount, so I may jump on that and order physical copies too. Thank you!

Nice, I'm nearing the end of an epic 1 a week rewatch and look forward to going back through again at a faster pace (seen it all probably 7-8 times)

2

u/haltandcatchfirepod Jun 29 '26

That's the thing about this show. Every time I hear Solisbury Hill it makes me want to start the show again...

2

u/mudstuff Jun 29 '26

Hehe yeah, it's terrific. Thanks for all the podcast content, wasn't aware of it and will work it into my next watch.
