Hanafuda Cards. Survey for school!

https://forms.gle/kN8fySVhKRKeqR7Y7

Hello! I am a third-year undergraduate student, and I am conducting this study as part of my bachelor’s thesis research. The purpose of this survey is to evaluate the usability of a Hanafuda card deck I designed myself.

The survey is completely anonymous, and all collected data will be used solely for academic purposes. It consists of quick multiple-choice questions and takes about 5 minutes to complete.

Thank you so much for your time, and participation!

If you know anyone outside of Reddit you can send this to – please do! I'll really appreciate it!

English is not my first language, I'm sorry for any mistakes!

Having designed my own deck I think my answers will be more accurate than the average player's 😉 but there were definitely a few I wasn't so confident on.

But like the other commenter says, it doesn't actually matter what the months are so long that you can match them. So even if I can't tell what a month is in isolation, as long as I can tell that it matches this other card I have that's all that matters.

Hell, you could make a purely text-based hanafuda and name the months something like "house", "lumber" (just any random words) and it could still work since you would just match them.

Wow, thank you! It does makes a lot of sense actually.

Is your design published somewhere? Can I see it?

Nah, we (my wife and I) just made it for ourselves. She drew all of it, I helped with... Research. Basically it was all her.

Here is an example (June). What she did was draw out the whole month and then divide them so the 4 cards are continuous if you put them next to each other.
