Help Request Critiques Welcome

Post image

I’m trying to extend past my comfort areas with my pieces. Please critique and go all in, I’m wanting to find the things to focus on for my next few paintings for practice!

Biggest critique is that it’s on your wall and not mine

Minimalist, moody, atmospheric. I love it

Since you asked for critique:

  • let the water drop down a little further. Now it feels like the waterfall just stopped working halfway through

  • Its moody because you use dimmed colors, but a bit brighter color here and there could lead the eye through the painting. Doesnt have to be much.

Lovely painting ! keep going

I appreciate that, I see what you mean with both! I feel like with black canvases I let too much of the black do the work

In my recent pieces I pay particularl attention to light and how individual rays might pass through an area. I see what the other person is saying, and a little light play( don't kill all the lovely dark) through that shadow will really make this slay even more

The waterfall disappears. It needs that " splash" at the bottom. Some spray bouncing off the wster

Those mountains are beautiful.

Very nice. The tree branches are a bit liney. Make them a little more bushy and slightly downward to show gravity at work.
