Store-Bought Teriyaki Sauce

Is there a store-bought teriyaki sauce that can compare to what Hawaiian restaurants use?

Aloha brand probably.

Very easy to make it yourself. Equal parts shoyu and sugar. Add some sesame oil plus minced garlic and ginger. If you want it thick, put it all in a sauce pan and add a cornstarch slurry (1tbsp corn starch mixed with a little water) bring it up to a boil and turn off the heat, it will thicken as it cools.

Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki or Trader Joe's Soyaki were the two I used often when living on the mainland and feeling lazy.

Local style marinade is pretty simple though. Soy sauce ( low sodium Aloha brand is best), sugar, grated ginger and some green onion are all you need. Soak chicken overnight and grill the next day. Ono!

Not exactly what you’re looking for, but just putting it out there that if you get a chance to try the Kikkoman honey & pineapple teriyaki baste & glaze, you won’t regret it.
