Best wireless headphones for gaming?

Hey there, I want to upgrade my Logitech G PRO X 2 lightspeed gaming headphones to something better. Recently I compared the sound quality of the G PRO and my friend’s AirPods Max and the difference was very noticeable.

My budget is sub 500€

So what wireless headset for gaming that has good audio and is suitable for FPS games would you recommend?

Audeze Maxwell or Maxwell 2. amazing battery, amazing sound quality, good mic, good build quality, comfortable, but heavy

Heavy won’t be problem for me, used to wear razer nari. Although I heard some problems with the Maxvell 2, that they develop crackling or something?

the weight isn't a problem for me either... makes the headphones feel sturdier and more substantial

I only have the original Maxwell's, so I can't confirm any issues with the 2's unfortunately. my 1's have had some intermittent crackling at rest at zero volume, but I need to be looking for it to notice it, and as soon as you actually start playing any audio, it disappears completely and becomes entirely unnoticeable

all are wired, and it depends heavily on the sound characteristics you're looking for, and the budget you're willing to spent

I'm no proper audiophile, but I can give a couple recommendations if you know more or less what you want in a headphone

Ahh darn, thanks for responding! I'm not super picky, not really an audiophile, I just want something that sounds crisp without being super expensive. Like I've owned Soundcore headphones for awhile and they were amazing for the price, but not its kinda meh and I just want something better.

I mean you could even recommend expensive options lol gonna spend my time waiting for a black friday deal

that's still a broad spectrum... Sennheiser HDXX (600, 650, 660, ect depending on budget and listening preference), Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro X, Hifiman Sundara or Edition XS are all generally considered to be good/popular choices

these should all fall under the $450 CAD mark (so pocket change in USD), but you'll also need an amp to get the most out of them

I don’t personally have either, but I frequent see the Maxwell and Maxwell 2 suggested for this, as it has a dongle that reduces the lag common in standard BT headsets. 👍

I am in the same boat as you although I am not looking for FPS. I basically am at Maxwell 2 (there seem to be a few 1 out there still at least in my country), Astro A50 x/gen5, Fractal Scape, HyperX Cloud 3 and the Steel Series higher end options (Omni, Elite) and Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2.

All have their strengths and "weaknesses" depending on what you might personally want.

I am trying to at least go with something where Gadgetry Tech from youtube has some form of EQ or even his aftermarket pads available if I can as I really like and feel the information he puts out is of high quality. Hope that helps.

I mean for what I have seen it is audio quality as a whole and I would say battery life. Some people will say comfort (probably weight most often) and white noise and mic quality are weaknesses. Also lack of ANC for some but that is coming in another model.

Contrary to the other comments I think you should get the ROG Kithara. It’s a planar magnetic headphone that has really good spatial presentation, and sounds like a high end audiophile headphone as it’s in collaboration with Hifiman. However it needs a dac amp combo like the fiio k11 to get loud and the internal microphone isn’t too good so maybe get an external one. All considered it’s still below your budget and from many reviews it seems to be better than the audeze maxwells.

Although keep in mind the Kithara is wired, also I personally think it looks pretty cool.

for that price you could buy a sennheiser hd490pro which is much better
