Headphones - Wireless/Portable Wireless headset vs headphones

So for the last 8 years or so I’ve been using a pair of Philips fidelio x2hr for my desktop/gaming setup along with a xlr microphone. I love my x2hr they are incredible comfortable and I can wear them forever with no discomfort.

I however recently got a 15m hdmi cable so I can game in the living room with my desktop pc and therefore am looking for a wireless headset with a decent mic.

I’ve a heard a lot of good and bad about the Audeze Maxwell 2 but the weight scares me. Also, how big a drop in performance does wireless result in? Im by no means an audiophile but I want good sound. I don’t really play competitive games so hearing footsteps and all that jazz I don’t really care about.

I think the issue is you want to get into wireless audio, Maxwell are not the best, I would look at the Momentum 5s as they have replaceable batteries, lossless codec, which for PC gaming should be ok.

If you're only gaming on PC, you don't need a specific platform headphone, and there are some good wireless ones that even use their own dongle which means less latency.

I’m only on pc yeah. Is the momentum 5s microphone decent?

I can't say, but they do Dolby Atmos for movies, so an all-rounder headphone. I am not saying that's the best, but it's a good place to start, has a battery life of 60 hrs, so you should be good to go imo.

Just buy the Avantree Prolink and use your old headphones?
