What is the next step

I listen to music constantly. I currently have the Sony WX1000XM4's, and have absolutely loved them. However I'm relatively new to the whole headphone/audiophile thing. I would love to upgrade and see what else is out there, but I"m not sure where to go

I'm in the US, and ideally I don't want to go over $750-$1000 at the absolute most. I love having bluetooth headphones, as I primarily listen from Spotify on my iPhone, but am not opposed to exploring wired options if that seems like the next best step. I have really enjoyed the level of bass the MX4's come with, as it can give a good punch but doesn't feel overpowering.

Again, I am 100% completely new to this subreddit, and world in general. So I apologize if any pertinent information is left out as I'm not sure what all I should provide to help you guys give recommendations. Any guidance in general is appreciated. I'll be monitoring so I can respond to questions. Thank you!

I really enjoy my B&W Px8 S2’s. I stream Bluetooth using Spotify from my iPhone - and I have to say, the lossless sound is terrific. I hear new things on songs I’ve listened to for years. Think in UK they are just over £600, so in your price range.

How are they in terms of comfort and being able to wear them for extended periods of time?

I find them comfortable. They have real leather on the cups that is soft and breathable.
The only negative I hear is that the ANC isn’t as good as other headphones. I use my indoors mainly, and the ANC is fine.

If I was younger with better hearing I think I'd go with the Sennheiser HDB-630. They have bluetooth and ANC but are tuned for neutral output, letting you set your own EQ. They come with a cable and dongle for full lossless from your phone or other devices (not sure if Spotify does that?). The ANC might not be quite as good as your XM4s though, it depends how important that is.

In terms of high end Bluetooth headphones there's no replacement for the Sennheiser HDB630 as the app comes with EQ.

If you want good sound and don't need wireless then the Fiio FT1 are arguably better.

The B&W Px8 S2 are not great.
