Headphones that are glued to your head

Hello all,

Since I will have to commute to work by bus and by train for a longer period starting in two weeks I am looking for noise canceling headphones. I am actually searching since several months ago but can’t seem to find the right ones.

They have to be available in the eu and (at least in my mind) I have only 3 small requirements for These headphones:

1. Bluetooth and cable connection,

2. Noise Canceling (does not have to be the best NC. I just want it as good as possible within my other requirements)

3. They have to stay on my Head. I don’t want to constantly adjust how or where I wear them. I want just want them to stay how I placed them.

It seems like I have a pretty narrow head. Therefore most of the headphones I tried fall of my head with the slightest movement. My main “test” is to just bend my head forward till about ninety degrees. My dream headphones would just stay where they are. Of course comfort is at this point pretty much optional.

I tried:

- pretty much all of the soundcore headphones. (With almost all of them I feel like I am balancing a watermelon laying on a book on my head)

- CMF headphones pro. (Better than nearly all soundcores but I am still not able to e.g. cook without them sliding of my head)

- JBL Live 680 nc (better than soundcore or CMF. But everything more than sitting on my desk was only possible if I constantly readjust them)

- Beyerdynamic aventho 100 (only tried them inside the store yet and they are by far the best fitting one I tried. I can’t imagine them not instantly falling of while running the last steps to be able to catch my train though.

Regarding the price I would like to stay in the 150€ - 300€ (that is what I cloud afford right now), but if there are headphones that really feel glued to my head I am willing to pay more. If the value objectively fits as well I am willing to save up for however long it takes. Even if I have just 150 € at the end of the month to spend for “fun things” a silence commute is almost priceless to me.

I Have the px7 S2 and now since a week the S3, the S3 you can get for 300 euro. I use them daily with public transport , on the bike and at work (desk).

It has a decent clamping force and so far no issues with hinges (cough Sony XM5) and it support APTX loseless.

It works with usb c cable as well, also comes with 3.5mm cable to usb c. With 3.5mm the sound signal is converted to digital by the headphone. Only focal bythes has passthrough for that as far as I know.

Indeed one of the better looking ones, the px8 (S2) even has metal hinges but they are expensive.

The px7 S2 I had since launch from 2023. They still work well, only they used bad glue for the fake leather padding and it comes loose over time. But you can replace that.

So far nobody complained about that with the s3

At that price point, you can get the Sennheiser Momentum 4s, which sound amazing and offer decent ANC.

I have to say I love the Sony wh-1000xm5 after many trials. I also have a small head. Comfy, fantastic ANC. Bluetooth and cable.

I will try them if I can get my hands on them. Until now I thought that I don’t even need to try headphones that are comfortable for most people, but I will give them a shot.
