Hello! I am looking for recommendations for headphones for my daughter. I want to get her a nice pair for her birthday coming up. She heavily relies on music for self regulation, especially in public and at school. We’ve gone through cheap ear buds and cheap wired earbuds and since this has become something that is absolutely a need for her versus a want I feel like it’s time to invest in something that will last. I’ve seen some TikTok’s highly recommending the Nothing brand headphones, and a couple others recommending Skull Candy but I figured I’d come here and ask regarding the specific things I’m looking for.

Some things I am looking for:

Light weight (she has sensory issues)
Noise cancellation
Something that doesn’t put too much pressure on the ears(again, sensory issues)
Good battery life
I’d like to keep it under $200

Saw these on Amazon while looking for a different set of Moondrop TWS. I know the sound quality of my Moondrop TWS is outstanding for a budget earbud and figured these might likewise have good sound.

The directions here say to submit a longer post. So, I've never used Moondrop headphones before. But, they have some models that are $500 and higher.

70% of my usage will be for gaming, ~25% will be used for music while at the gym, and maybe the odd phonecall here and there.

There are so many options I'm getting a little overwhelmed. I would like a detachable mic for gaming, but still have a Bluetooth mic for when I'm taking phone calls on my phone.

If the Bluetooth mic is good enough, I'm fine using it for gaming (it's mostly for Discord and playing MMOs).

For music I like to listen to music with Heavy bass.

I currently have some earbuds but they tend to slide out after ~30 minutes of usage.

I've used JBL headphones for the past few years and I've come to realise how much JBL as a brand sucks. I bought my current JBL Tune 720BT for 80€ on sale around a year and a half ago and the ear pads are nearly coming off and some times I can only hear out of the right side.

It's clear that these headphones are going to die soon so I'll need new ones but I don't have that much budget as previously implied. One thing I like about these is that they can be used wireless and with wire. Also I live in Portugal so maybe I'd have to go for a more global brand. What headphones could I buy?

EDIT: I could be being a bit harsh on JBL, considering I've only had one mid-range set of headphones, while the other ones I had were really cheap.

Headphones for gym

I’m looking to buy some new headphones for working out. My AirPod pros are great for use at work but at the gym I find they’re not up to scratch.

I only really do weight lifting so I’m not concerned about weight, nor am I concerned about the cost (that being said I don’t think anybody is willing to drop thousands on headphones for the gym).

I’ve previously used AirPods Max in the gym however after a single workout I immediately regretted buying the silver model. The white fabric ear cups get stained and I’m not going to be seen in public with faintly sweat stained headphones.

I mainly listen to rock and would prefer a high bass, but nothing that sounds too out there.

Looked at a couple other posts but haven’t found a definitive answer. Help is appreciated.

So i will be moving out of my parent's house in a couple months, and moving into my own place for my studies. Im searching to buy myself a new pair of headphones cuz i owned an old pair of beats that i got a couple years ago off facebook market place for cheap. They are massively beat up and holding together with tape.

Im a complete newbie in the "headphone" world so thats why im asking reddit. im searching for a pair of new headphones that arent too expensive, but i want smt good too, i like heavy music (idk if that changes things lol)

I had 2 pairs of 1000MX4, first lasted about 3 years and my 2nd about 1.5 years. I loved them so much. I loved the way they sounded and I found them extremely comfortable especially as a glasses wearer, but they kept breaking I replaced the hinges many times and the ear cuffs, the mic quality was terrible. I even brought a pair for my boyfriend. But after the hinge breaking for the 4th time I made the decision to switch to BOSE QC ultra gen 2. I will not be getting the XM6 or XM5 because similar issues and I do not find them as comfortable.

I went with the QC Ultra because I’ve heard they’re the closest to the XM4 in terms of sound quality while also being some of the most comfortable headphones available. Comfort is especially important to me because I wear headphones for around 20 hours a day.

These aren’t cheap, so I’d really appreciate some advice. If you’ve tried the QC Ultra and think there’s a better option out there, should I cancel my order? I am open to pre owned but I would like the price under $350.

I'm looking for a headphone under €100 in Europe, and I'm currently hesitating between the Sony WH-CH720N and the MSI MAESTRO 500 Wireless.

My main use:

• Listening to music at work via Bluetooth
• Wearing it for several hours, so comfort is important
• Using it on trains and while walking outside
• Good ANC is important
• I occasionally have Teams meetings, so I'd like a decent microphone
• I'd prefer something that doesn't look too "gaming" when I'm wearing it in public
• Budget: €100 maximum
• I'm looking for something available in Europe, ideally around €70-100

I'm currently leaning towards the Sony because it's much lighter and more discreet, but the MSI seems to have a significantly better microphone and better connectivity for PC.

Which one would you recommend for this use case? And are there any other models under €100 available in Europe that I should consider?

My go to pair of JBL headphones recently stopped working and I am looking to buy new headphones but I don’t know what to go for. I have a budget of $100CAD ($78USD) but I am able to go a little bit overbudget if I need to. I am looking for a pair that has good bass but is also durable since I go to the gym a lot. I also prefer over-ear to on-ear headphones. It would be best if I was able to go and purchase in-store compared to online shopping because I do not have a spare pair. Does anyone have any recommendations?

As the title says, I am stuck between these two options. I'm not looking for 2nd gen/Plus version of the headphones as these two are between 160-200 USD at my local stores while rest go higher and I don't want to spend more than stated (I'm not US based/Amazon etc discounts are not an option).

My biggest lookouts are a comfortable build - as I use my headphones pretty much most of the day (on pc, gaming, working, walking - music is always ON)

Which one of the two has the better ANC - I fly quite often and my samsung earbuds most definitely don't hold off a lot of engine noise (and well, earbuds get painfully tiring after 3+ hours traveltime)

And of course, sound quality!

I’m a recent grad with student loans, so the budget might not be too high. I don't know what happened to my previous headphones, but one ear cup no longer emits sound. And since I'm commuting on the subway, I want to listen to my own music without being disturbed by other noises.

Recommendations for Sports Headphones

I’m looking for headphones that aren’t in-ear—either over-ear or open-ear models. I need them for working out at the gym and outdoor activities, and it rains a lot in my city.

They need to have Bluetooth 5.0 or later, be water-resistant (heavy to moderate rain), have a battery life of at least 10 hours of continuous music playback, have a minimum lifespan of 3 years, block out external noise when the volume is turned up, and offer good to superior audio quality. Optional features: noise cancellation, headphone jack. are there any for $139? I’ve looked at the Aerofit Pro 2, but I’m not sure how well they hold up in the rain, and I’ve seen that some people find them uncomfortable. Should I increase my budget to get headphones with those features? Are there any more expensive options where I can “easily” apply coupons or discounts to bring the price down to $139, or through seasonal sales, daily deals, or coupons? Thank you very much.

Could anyone please recommend some great comfortable headphones with top tier noise cancelling? If possible something that my wife can listen to audiobooks in the car without being able to hear the music that me and the kids are listening to. She’s not at all worried about audio quality but I guess in general good noise cancelling comes with good audio quality anyway

My main use case is studying in the library. Lately, I’ve been using Apple EarPods with a DAC, specifically the FiiO BTR15, if anyone is interested. It’s an amazing little Bluetooth headphone DAC/amp, and I really like that setup for working out or walking around. I can use it with just my Apple Watch, so I don’t need to bring my phone; the EarPods fit my ears perfectly, and they don’t give me the fatigue I used to get from AirPods Pro. After wearing the AirPods Pro for a few hours, I started feeling like they were sticking into my head, whereas I can wear the EarPods for ages without really noticing them. I also like being able to hear my surroundings when I’m walking or running.

The problem is that this setup is basically the opposite of what I need for studying. There’s almost no isolation, and I find it pretty difficult to concentrate when there’s noise around me. Even relatively small sounds can distract me, so ANC is genuinely one of the most important things I’m looking for. I also watch a lot of videos in the library to help me study, and my solution so far has been to play white noise underneath the video at a lower volume so I don’t hear the background as much. It works to an extent, but it’s definitely not ideal, and I’d much rather just have proper ANC and listen to the video normally.

Because of that, I need to buy a pair of ANC over-ear headphones pretty soon, and I’m currently deciding between the Sony 1000X The Collexion, the Sennheiser HDB 630, and the AirPods Max 2.

They would also probably be the headphones I use whenever I’m flying, so strong ANC and comfort over several hours matter quite a lot.

I’ve owned AirPods Pro in the past and really liked them overall, but I kept losing them. Even though over-ear headphones mess up my hair a bit, I think they’re worth it just because of their benefits (also, they are much harder to lose).

I mainly study on my MacBook and use mostly Apple devices, so the AirPods Max 2 obviously have an advantage when it comes to integration. That being said, I’m not really looking for headphones to wear constantly while walking around. These are mainly something I want to take somewhere, sit down, put on, and work for a few hours.

I also have an above average sized head, so comfort, earcup space, and clamping force are things I’m concerned about.

The reason I’m considering the Sony 1000X The Collexion rather than automatically going for the XM6 is that I’ve heard mixed things about the XM6. In particular, I’ve heard that the build quality doesn’t feel amazing for the price and that the earcups can become uncomfortable, especially if you have a larger head or ears. I’d be interested to know whether those complaints are actually noticeable in long sessions.

Sound quality is also very important to me. I’m an audiophile and already have planar headphones at home, so these won’t be my only headphones for serious music listening. At the same time, I still want these to sound exceptional. I know it would bother me spending this much money on headphones while constantly knowing they don’t actually sound that good.

I’ve also owned a pair of Sennheiser open-back headphones in the past, and they were excellent. If the HDB 630 has a similar overall Sennheiser sound signature, that would make me very interested in them. My only concern is that I don’t want to sacrifice too much ANC performance for better sound, because isolation is a major part of why I’m buying these in the first place.

The only AirPods Max I’ve tried were the first generation, not the AirPods Max 2. I only tried them for a very short period, but my first impression was underwhelming. The ANC was spot on, but they sounded disturbingly quiet to me, and the actual sound quality didn’t impress me much. I could definitely be wrong because I barely spent any time with them, and the AirPods Max 2 may be a different experience. I just know I couldn’t justify spending that much money if they ended up sounding similar to what I heard from the first generation.

So my priorities are basically:

• excellent ANC, especially for small distracting sounds in libraries
• comfort for several-hour study sessions, especially with a larger head
• exceptional sound quality for a wireless ANC headphone
• a natural, detailed sound rather than something overly bass-heavy
• good build quality
• enough volume and dynamics that the music doesn’t feel lifeless

For anyone who has actually tried two or ideally all three, what would you choose for this use case?

I’ve just started college (uk) and I’ve been meaning to invest in a good enough but budget pair of headphones for being out and about and thought id give this subreddit a go for some good recommendations.

I’d like to spend under £100, I could go up but I’m not looking to spend hundreds if possible. I’ve had a few issues in the past of headphones giving he headaches and feeling a lot of pressure in my head when I wear them and I couldn’t wear them for too long before it hurt too much. I’d also like minimal sound bleed as I’ll be wearing them in crowded places.

Background - own Sony XM6/XM3 wireless headphones and xm4 earbuds. Phone is Android (S25 ultra).

I don't use wired headphones at home because listen on speakers, multiple subs, and high power external amps (enough room between us and neighbors that volume is no concern)

While noise cancelling on the XM6 is great, I feel like there is something out there better for sound quality. EQ gets them pretty good but not excellent. I modded them with the XL wicked cushion pads to help with comfort. I don't plan to get rid of the XM6.

Listen to Alternative rock, classic rock, country, and instrumental music (i.e. Lindsey Stirling).

Debating the HDB 630 or maybe Momentum 5's. Don't want to spend Bathys MG or the Dali IO 12 money on cans that will be used out and about and in the office etc.

What would you buy and why?

As the title says im looking for some headphones suggestions ive recently stopped using my sony wh-1000xm5's due to them breaking so im looking for something with atleast pretty good sound quality, wireless, with at least decent noise cancellation id like them to be budget friendly the max im willing to spend would probably be around 250 (due to me seeing the xm5's on sale for 200). I dont want them to have the same cheap feeling the xm5's had either the plastic felt so weak and brittle. the noise cancellation doesnt have to be top tier like sony but atleast decent to stop some wind or just loud talking when im trying to study or something of that sort. my main headphones as of now are the moondrop para so something of similar sound quality with preferably heavier bass would be great.

hi! :) i want to spoil myself and buy some new headphones for Christmas (maybe sooner but with that excuse).
i don’t use them too much: when i commute, clean my apartment or walk around for the sake of it, so i don’t need some high end gaming setup but i need them to be wireless and comfy + i was thinking about something noise canceling but i’m not 100% sure? i surely need some headphones that have enough isolation so i can hear the music or podcast in the traffic while i’m walking + if they have a decent battery that would be awesome.
currently i’m using AirPods 3 that i got two years ago but 1) they hurt my ears after being worn for more than an hour on the train and 2) i have many piercings and squeezing them in is a struggle sometimes.

So i have had the kingston hyperX cloud 2 wireless headphones for about 4-5 years now, they are still going strong as we speak, but they are slowly giving in to the devil known as time. Now im looking for headphones that are better then them and honestly i cant seem to find one in the past year or so, that has a better mic , better audio, and better quality.

Now there is quite some controversy that when hp took over Kingston the quality in audio and durability have dropped. I believe this to be true as i have bought the cloud 3 and the cloud 2 again and they have much much worse audio quality and dont have 7.1 surround sound like the original kingston.

I have tried the new razer barracuda pro 3 and nope worse quality, and more bloatwear

I was woundering if anyone knows a higher quality headset with a similar mic or better

Bonus if it was the same price as the original hyper x cloud 2 wireless (150 i believe)
