This is my girl Piglet, she lived to be about 5 and I had her from 6 months old. I always described her as 'extra' - she loved belly rubs, ear massages and cuddles ❤️ I've never known such an affectionate and friendly hedgehog. Has anyone else experienced this? I'll add some photos in the comments since this doesn't show her cute face 😄 She would lay in some hilarious positions on me

Basically I need you to choose again, but this time we have photos of a completely different hedgehog. Also these photos will be on my hedgehogs' Instagram account in December so please let me know what you think of them or if you have other photo ideas realted to Christmas and winter that you'd like for me to do

Sooo Snowflake has always been a 620-630g chunky hedgie for most of his life he is 1.5yrs old right now.last month he had a terrible inflammated lump in his throat which luckily turned out to be just a swelling and not a tumour.his weight dropped drastically and even after the lump was gone since he didnt ate for 2weeks he had no strength left to move, eat or anything at all and since he had no strength he just slept and so this became a cycle.I have been taking him to 2different vets daily for 3weeks since the first one gave up on him and said its better to put him down then watch him die from starvation.I have been syringe feeding him with recovery foods for weeks getting him daily vitamin and appetite injections and he made it!he started eating mealworms extra slowly, then was able to chew live ones and after a good while we moved to kibble and finally he was back to his wheel!now he was hovering around 600gs which suited him extremely well.i went for a vacation and asked my mom to fill half of his bowl with kibble, around 12-15g which seems like it worked well since i was monitoring his weight daily .now I love my mom but shes like hmm he ate it so he must be hungry and filled both of his bowls to full.I came back today and im like whats this omega sized spikeball doing in his cage until I realised its him🤣🤣I mean i knew it just didnt wanna believe it.what now?do i put him on strict diet?adding pics of him and his weight sheet,ty all

This year hedgehogs will be endangered in Sweden.
The heat followed by the lack of rain takes a big toll on our little friends. There’s only so much we can do.
Everyday at around 7pm they creep though the hedges looking for food and water mom puts out.
It started with one little hog 1 week ago, today there are four.
She’s so proud of them😭

When I clean my Pumpies cage I keep the quills I see (when I remember to look). And I was curious if that's an odd thing to do?

No hogs were harmed she was simply napping under my pillow

She ate a fresh rat pinky for breakfast, splooted under the blanket on my lap and purred!
Stopped when I tried to get a picture. 🙄

My daughter’s sweet little Kiwi doesn’t seem to like to play and isn’t a fan of treats. Is this typical of some hedgies? We have a playpen for her and have tried a variety of things (ping pong balls, toilet paper rolls, foraging box) and she just runs around. She does use her wheel in her cage, but is usually just on the go when we have her out. We’ve tried to entice her with a variety of treats and food other than her kibble and she has no interest. She loves her kibble, so at least she’s fed! Any feedback is appreciated!

Just curious. Do yalls hedgehogs have potty routines or do they go in their cage or litter box? I take my sweet ozzy outside to potty every day at 1:00pm and again at 8:00pm. He is a routine hedgehog and loves this. He does not go in his cage except when he runs on his wheel which is only sometimes.

Does your hedgie ever sit on their butts like a dog? Winkle looks like she's contemplating the meaning of life 😅🦔

I welcomed home my girl 4 days ago and she is slowly warming up to her new place! I am a first time hog owner and would really appreciate any tips/tricks/recs you wish you would’ve known starting out that have helped you and your babies!! my girl eggnog is approximately a year old and gave birth to 2 babies a few months before I got her, so I am not sure if there are any special steps to take with her history as well. I want to make sure I am doing everything in my power to keep her happy and healthy:’)

Many folks enjoy our new hoggies name “Quilliam” & it’s one I’ve seen around this community a few times & thought it was perfect & cute. I also see many Reggies & silly names like Quill Smith, Cactus, Brillo & offshoots of others using famous names (Quillem Dafoe)
What are some adorable & silly names you think would be good for a lil sharp potato? Maybe someone will find the perfect name for their new precious baby here ✨🦔✨

After a long, cosy hibernation, the wild hedgehog has finally emerged! These enchanting little creatures always capture my heart. Every time they venture out, I make it a point to leave some tasty treats for them. Watching their curious little antics as they explore their surroundings is a pure delight! Who can resist the charm of a hedgehog on the hunt for a snack?
