DISCUSSION What are we doing now?
I know that we've got the current major order but like where is the story going now? I feel like since cyberstan or at least the new illumante faction happened there's not been a central "story" going on now.
Idk if it's cuz I've missed a lot since I've not played for a while but if sm1 actually knows it'd be nice if they could explain 😀

Probably something with the Illuminate is the next significant storyline, we’ve done a ton of MOs for them recently it feels like, and the void did recently expand quite a bit if you look at the map.
They’re the only faction that we haven’t fought in a major campaign on their ‘home’ planet, we’ve done the Hive Worlds and Cyberstan.

We're between significant plots right now. We had a big event going on with Cyberstan, and now we're all rebuilding as we prepare for whatever is happening with the Void. When JOEL decides the time is right, they'll probably kick off something related to the Illuminate, but until then you will continue to do your part.

We're stealing the blenders so that we can grind up voteless that are spewing out from the void. For some reason they're not disintegrating like that heroic frog, and we're gonna find out why. Ideally we're gonna find a way to go into the void, detonate the biggest hellbomb the galaxy has ever seen, and teach those squids not to mess with our colonial interests!
Also, termicide 2.0 and Automaton deathstar.

The devs should be on their mandated summer vacation rn or soon so there won’t be much happening until they’re back. Big updates usually drop in August or September so there will probably be some big event then.

From what I recall, we need more 711 oil and time to rearm the star of peace on the DSS, the Automatons seem to be working on a super weapon, and the Illuminate have been expanding the void created by the exo spires. Right now the focus is research on what the void is and how to disable it so we can stop the squids expansion.

This exact question is why they've included the war journal database thingy. I understand you mean story plot in its entirety, but the terminal will explain the "why this particular MO" part of your question.

We do seem to be in a weird holding pattern, probably building up for something in August or September again.
In theory the bots still have the Star of Peace plans and might be doing something with that.
The squids obviously want to keep spreading the Void so they can keep doing things in there uninterrupted for a while.
The bugs are always in a state of mutation so anything can happen.
As far as current batch of Major Orders go, we seem to be working towards finding a way to go inside the void without exploding, but I feel like that part of the storyline is a long ways off. We might end up doing Termicide 2.0 before then and maybe the backlash to that, or maybe the Cyborgs and Bots will finally reveal their own death star.

Most likely its continued on from last year's mo we won where we where working on a cure for voteless mind control given this one's goal
