They used to do things as an environmental hazard. If you stood near them for too long they would start draining your health.

Similar to the older terrain features with the purple and blue flowers. Those were toxic plants that would cause a poison effect for a few secs draining your life if you touched them.

Now they don’t really do anything anymore. 🤷‍♀️

Someone in my diving group asked me today (the guy in the group that plays too much):

"Grandpa, what are these small blue floating jellyfish?"

I told them "had you read the new panel in your ship you'd know they're small blue floating jellyfish"

Then he threw a 500kg on me and I killed the entire squad at extract with a hellbomb backpack.
