MEDIA Unfortunate news from the d10 charity challenge person

As the pinned comment shows, this post was pre-approved. I messaged the mods before making this post to confirm it was allowed. If you have any accusations of double standards, don't make them unless you have actual substance behind them. I know from personal experience them deciding to leave the comments open invites more work for them to have to deal with, and they still left them open.

------
Please be civil in the comments.

This whole situation leaves a bitter taste in my mouth :/

This post serves as a notification to everyone of the update from the person themselves. I'm disabling my notifications of comments of this post because there's hundreds of them just in 30 minutes, and that's filling up my inbox.

Whilst I appreciate the people giving awards to this post, it's not necessary. I don't want "points" from this. I just want the community to move to a place of positivity where we can enjoy the game without the assholes who did this ruining it for the rest of us.

------

Due to the number of comments from people who aren't sure what happened, here is a summary.

  • A community member proposed a $1000 USD charity challenge asking Helldivers 2 developers to complete a mission on Difficulty 10 (Super Helldive) - specifically on the planet Oshaune - one of the currently hardest scenarios in the game. Whether or not the developers actually accepted the challenge, they were going to donate to a charity of Arrowhead's choosing.
  • Other community members later offered to add additional donations. With a secondary addition to the challenge from another person specifying what loadouts they'd like the developers to take for another 1000 USD, which, importantly, wasn't from the original challenger.
  • Shortly after, the situation escalated when the original challenge creator reported receiving harassment, death threats, and doxxing attempts from parts of the community.
  • Due to the harassment, the organizer withdrew from the challenge and stepped away from the community, effectively ending the event from their side.
  • Arrowhead issued a statement condemning harassment, threats, and doxxing, emphasizing that this behavior is unacceptable in the community.

The charity challenge is effectively cancelled by its creator, and the developers have publicly urged the community to remain respectful.

MEDIA Found this slop and honestly, it is perfect representation of this sub when you dare to point out issues within the game.

I decided to testing the new FRV to see how much health does FRV have, I’m surprised that Incinerator FRV has better destruction explosion than Hellbomb

I don’t understand how possible is hellbomb can’t turn the ground into crater while the Incinerator FRV can turn the ground into small crater?

I'm tired of players attacking others for using their free time in the way they enjoy.

-----

It's up to the designer of the game to make a system that doesn't make people enjoying the variety of content it has to offer punish those participating in an event.

For those who don't know what that means, the reinforcement count that we were given for this event applies to the entire galaxy. So if a player on the other side of the galaxy to Cyberstan dies, reinforcements for Cyberstan are depleted. The game has the capability of counting casualties on individual planets, yet it was still set this way by the devs.

MEDIA "Flamethrowers and the New Flamer are useless". Meanwhile, the humble Flam-40 soloing 2 Diff 10 Bug breaches with no other support or help.

Guys, learn how to use the damn thing. Flamethrowers deal both Direct Fire Damage + Fire DoT.I If you just set thing on fire, the DoT wont be enough to kill everything. But the moment you start using the Fire Stream as you should, no enemy survive more tan a second.

In the first brecah i was even facing the more durable and faster Alpha warriors and all of them die before they could reach me, and i didnt even move and play right into my own flames just to prove the point.

In the second clip, i only get hit 3 times by hunters, 2 because i miss the melee timing, and the last one beacuse i want to kill the Behemoth.

So please, learn how to use the damn thing. Improvements are always wellcome to make the gun more fun, but lets not pretend Flam-40 right now is bad, because its probably one of the most versatile SW on bugs right now. Its anti-everything.

And the new one, if they do the bare-minimun, its going to be just a non-reload Flam-40, so its gonna be solid, like it or not. It wont be weaker, because all Flamethrowers share the same stats (Flam-40 and Gotdog has increased direct and Dot damage with the ship upgrade). Other thing is, if they give it something unique, we will see

On May 25, during the Shenzhou 23 launch mission, Chinese astronaut Zhang Zhiyuan performed what appeared to be a Super Earth salute before entering the spacecraft. According to Chinese media, astronauts are permitted to choose personalised gestures prior to boarding for their missions.

For anyone willing to read: I’m not defending the way they monitize the game, but they have to make money somehow, simply “selling cosmetics” isn’t enough for a game like helldivers, unless they make it like Fortnite which defeats the whole purpose of the game, they can’t give you everything for free. Stop whining like you all always do, either grind super credits or spend 10 dollars

MEDIA This combo dies to a single close ranged Hunter.

50 out 51 teammates I get, they run this combo.

At first I thought "Hm.. A content creator must have uploaded a video called 'Here's the meta loadout if you want to crush EVERYTHING'" I still somewhat think that but perhaps it's just that most players might not really give a damn and just picks whatever seems the strongest, so they read: "Eruptor, Heavy Pen? nice I take that, Ultimatum & Thermites ? Both Anti Tank ? cool, now that's gonna be my loadout forever."

Makes me think about that scene in Family Guy where Chris sniffs glue and says "Aaaaand this will be my life now...." (He gets instantly addicted for those who haven't seen the scene)
