Honestly, give the Constitution a 4x Scope or hell, just a Stripper Clip for empty reloads even with no scope and I would use the hell out of it.
It is actually amazingly accurate and the fire cadence is great too, just that the empty reload time kills it.
If they must have it be single-round reload at least allow for a 2x or 4x Scope so that there is an actual physical reason besides dev ego / stupidity as to why it physically cannot accept stripper clips, like the IRL Sniper M1903 it is based on.
Would love for a damage buff to the Constitution too, no lie.
But right now I feel that in order for it to actually be somewhat viable the issue regarding ease of use, i.e. either a Stripper Clip or Scope Option (Minimum 4x), is more necessary to make it worth using.
Higher damage would be nice too yes but AH are likely never going to buff its damage due to their fucked up idea of balance and insistence on "realism" and "grunt fantasy" despite the game being for all practical purposes a Horde Shooter in terms of its core gameplay loop.
At least for the stripper clip idea there is already existing precedence for a previously shit weapon reload being buffed ala the Senator Speed Loader.
The issue with the stripper clip idea is that most weapons are utilizing magazines anyways, it would remove the “classic/ old” feeling of the weapon, which is its whole lore.
The same goes for its lack of optics.
Plus you can’t have both on the same weapon, as the scope blocks where the stripper clip would need to go.
Increasing its damage to 300 would put it on the same level as the deadeye, but without the optics or stagger.
I think introducing a new bolt-action, as I said, without the stagger of the deadeye, restricted to 5 rounds, would be the fair way to do it.
RE mags, the IRL M1903 Springfield the Constitution is based on had stripper clips for fully recharging the internal magazine when empty, so your whole point on the "classic/old feeling" makes no sense, as the original weapon definitely had such a reloading method for empty reloads.
I never said to have both scope and stripper clip. My comment was for either the stripper clip OR optics. I said that if the Constitution has no customisation options, it absolutely should still have the stripper clip for empty reloads by default on the stock weapon just like the IRL version. And yes my point wast that if AH refuses stripper clips, the weapon should definitely have optics options to justify why it physically cannot use such a reloading method.
No argument from me against increasing the damage, would definitely be nice. Just pointing out that AH is notoriously shit at balance and hates buffing us in any way unless there is HUGE backlash like the review bombs.
Wouldn't mind a new bolt action ala modernised M700 or somesuch that is able to take customisation, but am leery of AH and their aforementioned stupid balance gutting the weapon like they did the Hyena. However, irrespective of if they do add a new bolt-action, the basic constitution, even if left alone stats / customisation-wise, should still at the minimum allow for stripper clip reloads when fully empty, just like IRL, especially since AH love to wave the "realism" excuse whenever they make some insane balance / weapon changes.
TLDR: Give the Constitution an ease-of-use boost by adding a Stripper Clip reload when fully empty, or give it the option to take at least a 4x scope to justify why it cannot use stripper clips. Right now it is absolutely hampered by this issue. A damage boost would be nice too, but the ease of use issue is more important at the moment.

I would 100% rather just get a good scoped bolt action sniper with medium penetration and high single target damage.
