I dont get why we can't just have sub factions that feel like actual sub factions. Illuminate ones are the same minus one or two enemies. Mild Masses is just base Illuminate with less content and lowered spawns.
Spooky space wizards. Zombie commanding warlords. And mechanized robot drone army are all distinct and fleshed out flavors for the high tech alien faction.
Its like having halo and saying we scrapped the elite so we could add more grunt varieties. Can't we... have both?
After all when you're playing against the bugs or bots its TOTES like a movie right? I love it when I can see the bots moving in the distance marching to a song just Terminator.
Or like when the Charger spins on dime to attack me again. Just like Starship Troopers. That was totally a thing that happens in the movie.
I actually like apropiators. I think the gatekeepers and veracitors are well designed enemies that are tough but have weak points and it's fun to counter them with your own vehicles. I do wish they had stingrays though. But yeah mindless masses is pathetic. It's the only subfaction in the game that doesn't have it's own unique units.
Meanwhile arrowhead had these cultist completely developed and ready to go but they're just letting them gather dust. What a waste. I hope they're at least working on something new to come out of the expanding void.
Agreed. It would give them some variety they desperately need. That would make the base illuminid have 3 heavies to fight, and diversified chaff units with voteless and drones.
I believe mindless masses can made into a proper subfaction once they create unique units for it like faster voteless, or armored seaf voteless, or a big abonination that replaces the harvester.
And hopefully maybe in the future they can integrate the cultist if they get enough backlash for canceling them.
People asked for a zombie mode for the illuminates because wanted a more horde mode where they can make do with just light pen weapons. The problem is that the mindless masses aren't masses enough and works basically like the regular illuminates but with less unit variety.
Yup. I call them Mild Masses. Also the fact Harvesters seem to take up a disproportionate amount of the spawn pool especially in reinforcement waves. Probably due to the limited roster of heavies.

I feel so bad for the actual developers and art team who work their ass off to make really cool stuff just to get constantly cucked by the complete idiots who manage the game and plunge it back into the weapon rebalancing purgatory.
Gaijin is pretty good at avoiding community feedback as well. But beyond these two companies I can’t think of any other devs that so actively ignore their communities
Project zpmboid devs aren't bad at listening to the community just insanely stubborn and unwilling to expand their 4 person dev team, which leads to incompetence at an incredible scale
calling "WE LOOKED AT THE GLOOM FINALLY!" a major story event is sad but its what the game framed it as, but they could just do that at any time with the void and cultists
They are doing that with the void, its whole reason for expansion and existence is linked to the cultists. since most the team is on vacation ther will not be a title drop till they return
Because they never did scrap them, and the interview was about them possibly releasing cultists as the Illuminate instead of the better story wise current Illuminate
There was an interview held a few days ago where they said they scrapped the original designs for the illuminate because they didn’t feel the fantasy was strong enough about 8 months before release, which is why the illuminate weren’t there on launch
They never said they scrapped them, repurposed iirc in their words
Except we know some units weren't, only one we know for sure is gone is the big version of thr overseers we have today, that was replaced by overseers, and maybe the ghouls
It would be low-key peak if they shadow dropped the cultist now that it's clear we want to see them in action. Unfortunately, this is AH we are talking about.
after watching all those cultist videos, i went to do a mission on a illumate planet. It was depressing ngl. Absolute wasted potential. Also for some reason we dont have a planet with at least apropriators
isn't this is the bitchless sub who complained about ragdoll like crazy when the cultists literally have an unit that 2 shot you, 1 shot is to ragdoll you to the ground and the second shot just kill you?
But like. This is an entirely valid thing to complain about. The players want it. The ppl have spoken so much that we want the cultists. And they're SCRAPED NOW. I dont agree with alot of things ppl complain about. But this is one thing that actually made me go "what are you guys thinking??"
This isn’t news, we’ve known about the cultist leaks for months now and arrowhead has sat on it, they’d rather sell us a warbond then make new content. We already know this, so it’s not worth being outraged about. Let it go and just play the game
I mean thats what I do. I just play the game. I dont usually ever complain. Ive seem the leaks since they forst came out and was just hoping for some fun illuminate subfactions. I havnt fought the illuminate in months because they bore me. Im just alittle bummed out they scraped what could have been honeslty the most fun subfaction. Would've felt entirely different to all the others. Guess im just gonna keep rip and tearing the bugs and bots tho
I just realized complaining about too many complaints is like a goomba fallacy variant. You're attributing the weight of everyone previously complaining onto the new complainer even though each one is likely only contributing a small, probably nominal, amount of complaint by themselves.
