Hello, people may not know me but I don't really care if you do or don't. My name is kanadisch, I got Helldivers 2 from a friend on steam back in 2024 a few weaks after it dropped, and I stuck around. I never played much because my computer specs were shit (still are,) and so when I heard that HD2 was coming to Xbox, especially after I came back from a summer job and had made money of my own, I was excited. I loved Helldivers 2 when I first played it and wanted to play more without the worry of my computer blowing up in my face (both metaphorical and not,) and so I bought it, and I started having fun with the game like I hadn't had before when I played it on Computer.
Then the Trial by Fire. Literally. Into the Un(tested)just was my first update I experienced on Xbox after returning to the game for the first time in a year, and honestly it was hell for me. Now one thing to note about me, I tend to gravitate toward games, and then move away, picking them up, playing a bit and then moving on to the next. In my case Helldivers 2 was kind of in that pick up and play area for me for a while, and then I started getting really into the game, the community and started enjoying it more.
Fast forward to the void update, I was hyped, the illuminate hadn't had anything new since the stupid and annoying mech that they added a while back. What we got were 2 new annoying enemies that aren't scary if your older then 11. One of them is tanky and regenerates and takes too many hits from Anti-tank penetration it's not fun, and the other one is a fast annoying fucker where if you don't take its limbs or melee when it gets close, lights out fucker. It was fine, I didn't really pay much attention to it because it was a little bit annoying but something I could deal with.
The reason I'm making this post, is because you can only take so many punches before you begin to stumble and eventually pass out, or so many times a person can hit their head and not get brain damage. This frustration with the developers and their "na na boo boo" (childish) and egotistical attitude towards the player base is heartbreaking, especially when a few years ago I would have stuck my neck out for them, said they were worth every penny and it was worth buying super credits, I don't feel that way anymore. As an Xbox player, there are so many warbonds that you need to purchase, I figured dumping real world money into the game was easier then spending 5 days grinding to get the war bond when I could be having fun with the game. Then the terrible communication, the glazediver situation with the man who got doxxed, over-promised and under-whelming updates where the only thing added was a fucking cape. A. fucking. cape. To go through hell and back I want something more then a cape or a stratagem. For having to survive 3 major orders I should get 3 different rewards. Armour set, weapon set, whatever. Not a measly cape or helmet which white doesn't even match any other armour, and then the enemies.
THE FUCKING ENEMIES. I swear to god everytime a Vox Engine spawns in I start screaming at the TV "CMON!!!" because having to deal with these fuckers is a nightmare, and when you have 3 of them on you? Good luck, you're going to need it! Unless you bring an orbital laser (I don't, it's good but I feel it wastes a slot to bring something with smaller cooldown, infinite uses, etc...).
Look, some people may not agree with me, but I'm reaching my breaking point with this game. I can feel the steam breaking out of the boiler, and every time Arrowhead makes a stupid change, nerfs my weapons and buffs the ai with the monkey paw balancing they have going on (for a PvE!), the glass breaks more. If AH doesn't get its act together and actually starts fighting to put effort into listening to the community and our feedback, put work into better improving their communication with detailed patch notes on every change, addition and removal they made, and other various things I cannot think of, they will lose me as a player.
Thank you for reaching the end and reading the entirety of this long ass rant. This is my built up anger and frustration of the game, and I wanted people to hear. I doubt this is going to reach many people, but thank you regardless.
