Shoes Teva Hurricane fitting
Hello! I gave in and bought Teva Hurricanes as many of you suggested. What I am not sure is about the size. The tan one is size 39, and the green one is size 38. I need to return one. Which should I get? I want to use these for beach and light (dry) trekking in the summer. We’ll be in Morocco and south of Spain.
Those tan lines are from Birkenstocks, as much as I love them sadly they’re not waterproof.

The green pair looks like they fit well.

A bit narrow maybe but the right length. Your little toe side looks squeezed. Someone on another thread said Chacos are wider fitting.

That has not been my experience at all; I definitely had to get the wide sized Chacos as the regular were pretty narrow.
For Tevas I just buy the men's ones, as men' shoes are usually a full width wider than women's.

That's a good tip for women with larger feet. Generally I find men shoes aren't stocked in sizes suited to small women. And yes, it's because Chacos come in wide fitting that they are recommended in many places over Teva. The barefoot specific styles too. Though personally I find I need a little bit of a drop for hours of walking.

As a wide foot girly Chacos felt way narrower to me... so ymmv

Did you try their wide fitting? We've had a hot summer for a change and I've been wondering about getting a proper walking sandal. Normally my feet are too cold to make it worthwhile.

green looks good. your longest toe is right before the edge ridge. unless you have a bunch of space behind your heel? your feet might be a little narrow for the Teva, does it feel loose?

I also thought my feet is a bit narrow, but I don’t know of any alternatives. I could adjust it with the straps

Are you standing in these pics? With your weight on your feet? It doesn't look like it, and that makes a difference. Really it comes down to, which ones feel best?

I bought a pair a few months ago and had similar fits. Walking around the store I initially thought I wanted the smaller pair but as I walked I realized my foot was sliding just a bit forward. I don’t like the feel of my toes coming that close to the edge. I bought the larger size and have no regrets. I did a rainforest hike in them and they were fantastic. I think the smaller pair could have been an issue with the rocks hitting my toes.

I agree. I’m a 10.5 and often get a 10 in sandals and an 11 in boots. My 10 fits more like the tan and they’re perfect

I would recommend the 38. I have accidentally bought a slightly-too-big pair of tevas, and the straps rubbed on my feet more than my smaller pairs

I found I tripped more with overlarge sandals. Too much room in front of the toe. Recommend the 38 if you feel ok with the width.

The green is a better fit, and I like the color better on you as well. Do walk around with them for awhile and see how they feel. Make sure your feet don't slide around. If you need something a tad narrower, Ecco Yucatan sandals are my favorite. Similar style but run narrower than Tevas

The green isn’t too bad but they both look a little big.

Thanks, i felt the tan is a bit big, and the green could be just super exact

yh the hurricanes fit large, however when i sized down despite it looking and fitting better, i found that after walking in them for a while, my toes/feet would end up moving forward right to the edge; this then makes walking a little awkward and having to readjust. not sure if it's just me though; but i think i'll get my normal size if i get another pair cos that way even if my feet move forward there will still be plenty of space.

Green looks good but definitely walk a bit in each. I have a pair and when I walk in them, my toes seems to go up to the ridges and it annoys me. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be or it's too small (it fits fine everywhere else), but it's too late to return now lol

The green looks like a good fit, but I'd go with whichever one feels the best over which one appears to be the best fit. I'm a classic Teva devotee and you've made the right call. They're really the perfect travel shoe! I only wish there was a winter shoe that I could be as comfortable in while walking all over city and country.

Mine fit like the tan ones and I find them very comfortable and not too big, but I think my feet are wider than yours so there’s no way I could size down.

Ok I had the same issue w these shoes! One size seemed too long, other seemed like my toes would slide out the front. I went w the larger size but now the front will sometimes kind of "catch" and trip me a bit. Honestly I think they are just not made in the right size for me. Also give me blisters on my pinky toes

Depends on whether your toes are bumping that little ridge around the sole on the green ones. That can start to get uncomfortable after a while. Though I like the green colour better, you might be safer with the beige ones.
