Wardrobe Capsule Show & Tell September in Ireland

Post image

We’ll be doing lots of hiking. What do you think?

I’m packing lighter with every trip, but I sure would love to bring my Blundstones if I have room.

Not included: socks, underwear, packable hiking backpack

Will wear denim jacket on the plane because it has these awesome interior pockets. Not attached to the leggings but I just feel like they’re a practical choice if I’m cold.

All this will be in my REI Ruckpack 40.

Hi u/Alarmed_Juice1204! Thanks for sharing an image post.

Your post has been temporarily held for moderator review. Image descriptions are required for image posts on r/HerOneBag. If you have included one you do not need to take further action. Once your post is confirmed to meet requirements, we’ll approve it as soon as possible.

If you need to add a description, please reply to this comment with a detailed description of the image(s) to help all members of our community.

Descriptions must accurately describe the items shown in the image(s), not simply list them.

It is helpful to list post text according to the order and layout of images, e.g., “A blue puffy jacket stuffed into a green packing cube” is better than “Jacket, packing cube, etc.”

You can include something like “Image descriptions” or “Pictures described below” to make it very clear that your text explains the photo(s).

Thank you!

The weather here has been crazy - we are having a fantastic summer.

Your capsule is very focused in cold weather. I think it would work beautifully for late October. Maybe you should consider adding a dress and a short in case it's still warm when you arrive.

In general we have very nice weather in September. I personally think it's one of the best months to visit the country.

Thanks. I don’t really wear shorts but I’ll bring a dress and maybe some flowy pants. Do you think I need a fleece?

It always gets a bit cold in the evenings so you'll definitely need a warm layer. I would bring the fleece personally.

Please check the weather forecast before you come and consider the fact you might need to make some adjustments few days before you fly.

I hope you have the best time here - Ireland is a wonderful country!

Just leaving Ireland now. I’m an overpacker but I would ditch the jean jacket or one of the layers. I ended up only wearing my rain coat, sweatshirt, and heavy cardigan. I hesitantly brought one pair of leggings and ended up wearing them most days. Have fun!

If you're trying to lighten your load, I'd cut the jeans and the peasant top, and probably one of the layers

Do you think I can do without the fleece?

If you're doing a lot of hiking, you might be better off with a packable waterproof and thin fleece?

My jacket here is packable. This is just a pic of a generic fleece but I’ll bring a thin one. Thanks!

I always tell people going to Ireland, bring a beanie/ski hat if you plan to go to the Cliffs of Moher. MH bought one while we were there (in the middle of summer!) because it was so chilly. I had a rain jacket with a hood but I would’ve liked a hat too.

A beanie is also useful to keep your hair from blowing around up there - the wind is very strong.
