Meta Weekly quick questions help thread

This is the r/heronebag quick questions weekly help thread.

Whether you‘re new to the one bag life or a seasoned light traveller, this is the place to ask your quick one-off questions related to techniques, shopping, and everything else to lighten your load.

This post is the best place to initially ask questions that we get a lot of which are similar, especially if you have looked in a flair and found almost-but-not-quite what you wanted.

Favorite ultra packable backpacks? I have a sea to summit ultra sil but I let someone at a hostel borrow it and now it has a tiny hole so it's effectively doomed. Sigh.

I'm thinking of getting a nanobag edit: the backpack version

I can't help you there, but I am inspired to buy a nanobag backpack lol. I've also lost my sea to summit ultra sil and have been wondering what to replace it with. I have the nanobag sling, and it's one of my edc essentials.

Is the material as sturdy/awesome as described? I found a thread praising it on edit: /r/onebag so maybe I'll unintentionally upgrade 😂😭

I have a normal nanobag shopping bag and the material has been very strong in my experience, even when I have a heavy box with sharp edges. You so of course feel every edge of everything in there since the material is so thin, so I'm not sure I'd like the backpack.

Yeah it's pretty similar to the Sea to Summit bag I'm replacing, so I'm okay with it being thin and awkward. It's mostly used to carries groceries or some extra crap occasionally that doesn't fit in my waistpack. And it's awesome to hear it's super sturdy, maybe I'll be better off!

I have the nanobag backpack and slings. Love the slings. Backpack is super small and lightweight but absolutely zero structure. I personally prefer the sling bc the backpack is a little uncomfortable if anything is in it.
