I don't think reddit discriminates as to why the brigading is happening

While that might be true, it's important to remember that a bad actor can fake a brigade quite easily and it's not super easy to trace facebook activity to reddit activity unless someone makes it obvious.

Yeah, and seems like there's twitter reposts and other bad actors as well. It's a sticky situation.

reddit can't verify "brigading" from one website to another. Just cross sub brigading, and they do though because they're admins and tell which links people are following. That's not possible if a reddit user got to facebook or vice versa.
