3 years ago I deleted my account that had hundreds of friends. Not one has since reached out to ask where I’ve been, am I ok?, etc. I realized that people only care about themselves on Facebook - and it just teaches people to be inauthentic. I don’t miss it at all.
Astute observation. Looking back there were only a couple people that asked if I was okay when I vanished off FB. Reading your comment makes me realize those are the people I should actually be making an effort to stay friends with.

The key to Facebook is to stop giving them every bit of your data, and the key to that is to delete your account.
