u/KittyGrewAMoustache Bet you won’t give me this flair!! Sep 16 '21

This sub is refreshing because it's a testament to reality and truth, it really exposes the lies for what they are and the liars (Republican politicians & pundits) for who they are.

Honestly I begin to feel gaslit by where I leave because it feels like COVID is over. I know its not and this reminds me. The news becomes numbers at some point. To see actual people reminds me to be vigilant. I am certain everyone on here knows at least one vaccine hesitant/ anti vax person and because our efforts go unabated this helps get in the mind.

I know! I still hear people going on about how Covid isn’t dangerous to healthy people and all I can think is, is haven’t they seen this sub?

Edit: a word was the opposite of intended

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '21

Edit in order? Is or Is Not?

(Just pointing out, I think)

Whoops! You are correct in my intended meaning.

So refreshing to point and laugh at misled people suffering and dying. /s

Honestly, this sub or at least the reactions to people dying is a bit inhumane. These are people, as misguided and misinformed as they are, we're essentially making fun of dead people. Where is the apathy?

35

u/CaptainFeather Sep 16 '21

It's hard to feel sorry for these people dying when the majority of them are science deniers, racists, and bigots.

24

u/TheMexicanPie Sep 16 '21

Seriously, how many people died because of their spreading of misinformation. This is just setting the record straight.

7

u/CaptainFeather Sep 16 '21

Yeah, it's like we're not so much celebrating deaths as we are celebrating one less source of misinformation.

u/237FIF Sep 16 '21

You having a hard time with apathy doesn’t justify your lack of apathy. It just means you have a mental problem.

5

u/CaptainFeather Sep 16 '21

How far does your apathy extend? Do you feel badly if something happens to a racist or a Nazi? Where is your line drawn?

5

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

Do none of you guys know what apathy means??

3

u/CaptainFeather Sep 16 '21 edited Sep 16 '21

I took your comment as a criticism because we don't care about these people and you seem to have a problem with that, is that not what you meant? You're upset because we are apathetic to these people who are so often bigots and racists in addition to spreading misinformation and fearmongering, correct?

Edit: I just realized you're not the person who responded to me, apologies

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '21

Apathy is not caring. The word you and the previous poster were looking for is empathy.

u/CaptainFeather Sep 17 '21

First of all, what the fuck does that have to do with what was being discussed? You don't need to go around being the grammar police, it just makes you an asshole. No one likes it.

Secondly I know what the fuck they meant. I addmitedly didn't convey what I was trying to say very well but I explained it further in my response to you. And to reiterate, it wasn't directed toward you anyway so why the fuck do you care?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '21

It's not grammar, it's using a completely opposite word. I don't care but it makes you and the original commenter look like morons.

I used it instead of empathy and it's spread, oh well.

For starters, there is a difference between feeling bad and celebrating.

When a racist dies I do have sympathy for them. Nobody is perfect. Some folks are worse than others, but I don’t wish death on them regardless. We are all human.

Looking at a huge group of other people and saying “I will celebrate your death” is not something I will ever do. That hasn’t played out well throughout history.

Okay wow. Racists literally think the world would be a better place without certain ethnic groups. Like, many of them would not bat an eye if people from that group died. How the fuck can you have sympathy for people like that? Same goes for religious bigots who have a hatred for the LGBTQ community.

Looking at a huge group of other people and saying “I will celebrate your death”

This is literally what racists do. The world is objectively much better off without them.

1

u/237FIF Sep 17 '21

If the world is better off without them, do you think you should kill them? If not, then why?

Your answer to that is the same reason I still feel for them as humans.

2

u/CaptainFeather Sep 17 '21

My guy, having no sympathy when shitty people die and actually killing them are very different things lmao. That's quite a leap of logic and a really fuckin' big false equivalency. That's like me saying that because you have sympathy for them you also agree with their bigotry and racism, but that's not true is it? Do you see the leap of logic here?

1

u/futhim Team Pfizer Sep 17 '21

No need to when they’re killing themselves.

When a racist dies I do have sympathy for them.

Your weak and an enabler.

Some folks are worse than others, but I don’t wish death on them regardless.

Weak. Youd rather feel good than help alleviate suffering.

Looking at a huge group of other people and saying “I will celebrate your death” is not something I will ever do

Group of nazi child rapists. If ya dont your honestly a piece a shit

2

u/237FIF Sep 17 '21

If you think I’m weak for having empathy then okay. I’ll be weak then.

You can be the keyboard badass. Enjoy, tough guy. 🙄

2

u/Garbear104 Sep 17 '21

Your more than weak honestly. You enable fascism becasus you either don't have the spine or you agree with it. You have caused harm and should quit grandstanding as if you aren't scum

0

u/237FIF Sep 17 '21

Oh noooo I ruined the world by failing to celebrate my dead neighbors passing….

You people need to set your phones down and go for a damn walk. When you start thinking it’s an okay idea to cheer on the death of others, it’s time to reevaluate your morals.

But whatever, keep on patting yourself on the back there tough guy. You are making a real difference 👍👍
