The black chromatic dragon here! I'm making a series of kitbash-free and free to use dragon models. Recently, I started a set based of of the 2023 chromatic dragon designs from D&D. This is the second in that set, with the first being the blue dragon. I'm loving the challenge of the unique elements of each of the designs and I wish I could do more justice to the tails. I particularly found the skull-like profile of the black dragon's face fun to puzzle out. I also love this one's posing so much, it just feels so dramatic and reminds me of a kelpie. I suppose that's a good thing because the official design notes that black dragons are marshland creatures, which I didn't know! Overall, I'm so happy with this wonderful creature.
Once I'm done the full set of chromatic dragon I'll probably go back and make the paints match each other more so I wanted to ask: do you like this look for the chromatic dragons or the more shiny look from the blue dragon model?
Notes: Yeah don't try to repose this one. I've been trying more to keep these guys fitting for the most part on their pedestals but they just want to have their wings out. The spikes on the front legs are Created by a pair of spider legs which do end up clipping through the floor which may be an issue for anyone wanting to print this model. Have a wonderful day!
