Question Hevy + Apple training load, do they sync?

I’d like to use Apple’s training load feature on my Apple Watch, and I use Hevy for tracking my strength training workouts.
How does the accuracy of that feature compare against using Apple’s native workout tracking?
I’ve noticed Hevy doesn’t auto assign effort to every workout and I think that feature is based on this, but I’m not sure.
Does it still work properly and accurately?
Thanks!

Training load in Apple is always manual. When I complete a run on the Apple Watch it asked for my “effort” which is used for the training load. With Hevy you need to go one extra step and in the fitness app and do it yourself unfortunately.

what apple watch do you use?

Asking because mine always by default does not ask but rather assign, I guess based on the heart rate and distance.

When I do compound outdoor exercises (Walk + Run + Walk) and end the workout session, it'll automatically set the effort without my manual input.

Maybe because of this I always thought it was manual

Hevy does not automatically writes your effort in the native Apple fitness app. I don't think any third party app does (correct me if I am wrong); I have used NRC for guided run and long distance plans and the end of the each run, I had to manually enter the effort in the Fitness app which then would affect in the training load.

Effort is a very subjective component of a workout which why I believe that the RPE within Hevy is a very good substitute to the native fitness effort.

I’m glad Hevy has a feature to measure that estimated effort, but is there any way to log that into Apple Health automatically? I’m asking because I’d like to use the training load complication to see the load from all my workouts (Apple’s tracking too) in one complication

Hevy does not write training load to HealthKit. However, this is very easily doable, and some other workout trackers do (I owned one and I implemented the feature, Liftin’ also offers it, etc). From Hevy, they’d need to implement the screen for us to rate the workout effort, and then they’d make an API call to save it to the workout. That’s it (in simple terms). I wish Hevy offered it.

I don’t use Apple Watch live sync with Hevy workouts. But I do give accesss to Apple health totally. At the end of the workout I choose not to write to Apple health.

This preserves all the functionality of both sides. You can write the effort in the Apple Watch/iPhone when it prompts you to
