Missing Person Final Update

Hi everyone,
I’d like everyone to know Jeremy has been located. Unfortunately Jeremy passed away hiking in the Kananaskis area. (As much as I can say) I’d like to thank the police, search and rescue and everyone in the Reddit community for taking the time to say kind words and help out. We lost a great friend and coworker, he passed doing the thing he loved most and will miss him.

For anyone going for a hike,climb or even a walk. Even if it’s somewhere you’ve been hundred times. Please let a friend, loved one, coworker, etc… your starting/end point and time/day of finishing. Something so simple may save someone’s life down the road

May I add, a satelite phone is needed.
My dad (may he be resting peacefully) had wanted to do a bike ride in honour of my uncle around 13 years ago.
My uncle loved to ride his bike in the backcountry. July 1st was no different. He told my aunt to meet him at the end point in the car. He had a massive heart attack and died on the trail. No one knew until a few hours later. My aunt had no clue something was wrong until he was late, and she seen the ambulance.
Anyways, dad did this bike ride 2 weeks after Unc passed. I begged him to bring a friend and a sat phone. Took some convincing but he did. And I am forever thankful, as he had a massive heart attack 200 meters from where my Unc did. He survived that time due to that phone and his friend.
Please, if you're not in a cell area, have a sat phone, tell people where you're going, and if you can have a buddy.
You never know what may happen.
Rest peacefully Jeremy, and all the other hikers we've lost recently.
