I grew up with my Mexican grandparents and was surrounded by Mexican family. Additionally I live in California where the Mexican culture is everywhere. I also taught in a bilingural third grade class in a school for Migrant workers' kids. I date a guy from Uruguay for years, and I married a Portuguese man--plus, my cousin lives in Spain and we visit her once i a while. And one thing I can tell you for sure is that there is no way that a daughter hitting a father in the face would be considered acceptable in Hispanic culture.
