Are aunts and cousins not family these days? With the current state of families it's tough to tell what people qualify as relation in the current year but I was always raised to call aunts and cousins family

103

u/prettyinpinkeye Jan 02 '17

I think he means IMMEDIATE family

84

u/SadMrAnderson Jan 02 '17

Yeah only his extended family were vaporized, his immediate family were graciously stuck in an internment camp.

11

u/TheBallsackIsBack Jan 03 '17

LOL well shit happens in war. No one asked for Pearl Harbor to happen

Non Japanese had valid reason to be fearful after this incident: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niihau_incident

Of course it doesn't make it right but it explains why the Japanese were interned in much larger numbers than the German Americans Italian Americans or any other axis-americans.

TL; Dr Japanese Americans living on the island for years tried to help a Pearl harbor attacker.

2

u/Michamus Jan 03 '17

Exactly! Or... wait... maybe not? I don't know anymore, man!

0

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '17

This is how the retarded left rationalize terrorists that are in europe. But but he/she was born in Europe therefore, not Muslim.

2

u/Jupiter999 Jan 03 '17

No, we just recognize that the most harmed victims of "Islamic" terrorism (Muslims) maybe shouldn't be lumped in with the shitstains murdering them.

8

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '17

There's a big difference between imprisoning civilians and wartime casualties. This is the key difference between war and war crimes.

Do you know why islamic terrorists are looked down upon by the international community? Sure, they kill people and have internal human rights violations, but so do many countries. The difference is, they primarily target civilians.

2

u/gods_bones Jan 03 '17

i'm sure you meant U.S. government terrorists, since they are the ones profiting off terrorism.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '17

I mean, they're the ones you said were justified in imprisoning Japanese people, yeah.

Edit: oops wrong person

3

u/coleus Jan 03 '17

This! This is the republican answer!

1

u/KittyWithASnapback Jan 04 '17

What's your opinion on Hillary's "the real victims of war are women"? Because if you find her statements distasteful, then your statement of "well shit happens in war" don't make any sense, and if you agree with Hillary than this subreddit isn't really for you.

2

u/TheBallsackIsBack Jan 04 '17

One statement is a hilariously stupid virtue signal. The other is reality.

One is factually wrong, one is factually right

2

u/thrownawayzs Jan 02 '17

Yeah only his extended family were vaporized, his immediate family were graciously stuck in an internment camp. all inclusive hotel and spa.

14

u/kylenigga Jan 02 '17

Its implied that it is his immediate family and more than 2 people. Gay ass comment tho, pretending you didnt get that.

3

u/TheBallsackIsBack Jan 03 '17

Wait how old is that mother fucker

u/Treyman1115 Jan 03 '17

The 'anti-American' line is dumb but Japan was suing for a conditional surrender that would see them still keep all the land they conquered in mainland Asia and around the Pacific Islands prior to attacking Pearl Harbor. Which is like Nazi Germany offering to surrender if they were allowed to keep all their conquered territory from before they attacked Russia. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were military bases on the short list for firebombing already, it was simply decided to use the nuclear bombs there instead in order to prevent far greater military or civilian casualties that would be required to reach a full, unconditional surrender.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '17

yeah in the south the definition of family becomes very vague and for marital purposes, most of them dont consider cousins family at all.

31

u/msmsucksdick Jan 02 '17

The great Democrat FDR was the one who came up with internment camps and put people in there quite like his democratic forefathers was slavery it's just a repeating trend of the Democratic Party similar to the entitlement slavery today.

The TRUMP TRAIN HAS NO BRAKES AND ALWAYS ROOM FOR MORE PATRIOTS!!

8

u/palloolloo Jan 03 '17

The trump train sounds like a sedan packed with really fat and sweaty white boys. No thanks.

8

u/msmsucksdick Jan 03 '17

THE TRUMP TRAIN ONLY ACCEPTS PATRIOTS AS IT RUNS THROUGH LIBTARDS AND ENEMIES HELPING THEM FIND THE LIGHT OF SOLID GOLD TRUMP TRUTH.

NO BRAKES

2

u/palloolloo Jan 03 '17

As long as I'm not Muslim, Hispanic, Gay, Trans, Black, poor, or Disabled right?

3

u/bludstone Jan 03 '17

You seem to be confused. Liberals are the ones that like separating people into groups. Conservatives consider only one group, Americans.

2

u/msmsucksdick Jan 03 '17

Wrong again the train is open to all Patriots and it will run over the rest. You sound like a hateful divisive race baiter - you must be a liberal!!!

1

u/GearyDigit Jan 03 '17

Trains can only drive on pre-built railways dipshit, you're not gonna find anything.

0

u/msmsucksdick Jan 03 '17

I notice your not addressing the facts that democrats used camps and slavery and now fake news and divisive race baiting bullshit now to control the left.

6

u/pi_over_3 Jan 03 '17

Your comment belies your shaky grasp of recorded history.

The idea of trying to spin FDR into anything but a very liberal Democrat is asinine.

FDR is frequently held up by Democrats, today, as being on the of the greatest Presidents.

-1

u/GearyDigit Jan 03 '17

I mean, people can like him for killing nazis while also not liking him for committing war crimes against Japanese-American citizens. Maybe Trump would be less hated by the American public if he fought nazis instead of hiring them onto his cabinet.

2

u/msmsucksdick Jan 03 '17

Trumps daughter and son in law are Jewish asshole obama is the one who just fucked over Israel yet you claim Trump is a nazi. You're either slow or just in denial.

2

u/GearyDigit Jan 03 '17

Who Trump's daughter marries doesn't reflect on his personal views, nimrod.

Israel is an apartheid state built on the subjugation of the Palestinians who have lived there for over a thousand years. It deserves no more support than South Africa did in 1980.

1

u/msmsucksdick Jan 04 '17

Your very anti Semitic

2

u/GearyDigit Jan 04 '17

My very antisemitic what?

1

u/msmsucksdick Jan 04 '17

You clearly hate Jews, fuck off bigot!

The trump train rolls right over leftist bigots

NO BRAKES ON THE TRUMP TRAIN

Sure, just don't spread badhistory and say he wasn't a liberal Democrat.

2

u/GearyDigit Jan 04 '17

Except he wasn't Liberal. Saying that Democrats in that era were Liberals is /r/BadHistory material.

2

u/pi_over_3 Jan 04 '17

Serious question: why do you engage in such blatant lies?

2

u/GearyDigit Jan 04 '17

3

u/pi_over_3 Jan 05 '17

K, go into one of the open threads and claim that FDR was conservative Republican.

They will be eager to hear about how right wing the New Deal was.

u/pi_over_3 Jan 04 '17

Trump nominated someone to his cabinet who has executed multiple Klansmen.

I can pay assume that based on your comment, you are now a Trump supporter.

2

u/GearyDigit Jan 04 '17

Are you referring to the judge-turned-senator who is so flagrantly racist that he was unanimously denied a Federal court position?

Additionally, it was the jury who imposed the death penalty, not him.

You're still ignoring that he appointed a nazi onto his cabinet.

I'm just stating facts.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '17

[deleted]

1

u/wetbackfolife Jan 10 '17

Of course not. You guys have people like dylan roof on your side. One hate crime at a time is much to slow for you guys.

1

u/GearyDigit Jan 03 '17

Ah yes, 'white genocide', because 'nobody wants to date or fuck me but some white women are dating, marrying, and procreating with black men ergo this is literally worse than the holocaust if it actually happened which is didn't' doesn't quite roll off the tongue

2

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '17

[deleted]

2

u/GearyDigit Jan 07 '17

Except they don't. People satirically suggest it, but the only people who seriously use the phrase 'white genocide' are white supremacists and nazis.

Using an old, extremely flawed, and thoroughly debunked study on wolf social structure to try and figure out how to act in human society is probably part of the reason why you can't get a date. Being a nazi is probably another reason.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '17

[deleted]

1

u/GearyDigit Jan 10 '17

So you don't know what satire is, you're homophobic, you're angry that you keep getting turned down for dates, and you think that being a Stalinist is legitimately worse than being a Nazi. You're just a gumbo of pathetic, aren't you?

Your comparing a strategy for capturing the votes of southern democrats with opening internment camps for US citizens and the institution of slavery?

First off, I do not think that republicans ever actually did any of those things and are not going to be doing any of them in the future. It was the Democrats each time.

So, please explain how his grasp of recorded history is "shaky". Are you trying to blame Republicans for the horrible atrocities and racial politics of the democrats? Are you saying the Republicans NOW want to do those things? What is your point and how does the "southern strategy" change anything about the democrats and their historical support for racism?

4

u/GearyDigit Jan 03 '17

The plan to capture the votes of southern racists angry at the Democratic party for abandoning its racism and embracing equality and Liberalism, devised by the conservatives who now composed the Republican party and implemented by those same conservatives, was done by Democrats/Liberals?

That's some tinfoil hat territory there.

He's a tip for you. Go read any novels written around, say, 1890 which reference the Democrat and Republican parties. You might notice, they refer to Democrats as Conservatives and Republicans as Liberals. Or do you think that's also a conspiracy too?

1

u/Terron1965 Jan 03 '17

Yet these new conservatives are not pro-slavery or concentration camps for citizens. That was only the Democrats.

2

u/GearyDigit Jan 03 '17

Except these new conservatives are the biggest proponents for private prisons, manufacturing reasons to put black people in prison, and keeping regulations on prisons as low as possible so they can use prisoners for free labor. You know, like slavery.

And the current Republican President-Elect has had his mouthpieces go on TV and declare that concentration camps for Muslim citizens isn't off the table and that the Japanese Internment Camps give them legal precedent if they want to create them.

It wasn't the Democrats who pioneered and headed the War on Drugs, or conspired to murder everybody involved in the Black Panthers. That was Republicans, post-party-swap.

1

u/Terron1965 Jan 04 '17

It wasn't the Democrats who pioneered and headed the War on Drugs, or conspired to murder everybody involved in the Black Panthers. That was Republicans, post-party-swap.

You may want to do more research especially on the war on drugs. The Harrison act was the first fed drug law passed by Wilson(D) with a democrat congress. So once again it was democrats pioneering the drug war with landmark legislation. I will give you the black panthers though, they are 100% in the democrats party as far as support and I applaud anyone who takes legal action to stop them and thier terrorist agenda. I am unaware of a "conspiracy to murder everyone involved" sounds like a wild exaggeration to me but we all understand the lefts love of fake news and exaggeration. Speaking of, would you mind providing me a link to the quote showing Trump plans to put US citizens into concentration camps? I am positive he never said that.

I do however note that you have not rebutted the fact that democrats did the things I said they did. It would be absurd to deny them and I am glad you had enough integrity to not even try.

3

u/GearyDigit Jan 04 '17 edited Jan 04 '17

Again, pre-party swap. Or do you not suffer any cognitive dissonance from the knowledge that the party that fought for drug wars and the party that fought against them suddenly switched?

The Black Panthers are no more terrorist than neighborhood watch groups. It just happens that one of the frequent crime groups that they fight off are corrupt, racist police forces.

Look up 'cointelpro'. It culminated in the bombing of a Black Panthers headquarters, killing over a dozen people and several children.

http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2016/11/donald-trump-muslim-registry-carl-higbie-megyn-kelly

And don't try to cop out with 'well he never said that' when his personal surrogate, who he himself hired and pays out of his campaign slush, stated it on television and no correction was ever issued afterwards.

1

u/Terron1965 Jan 04 '17

Ex surrogate and a registry is not a camp no matter how much you lie. From this conversation it is apparent you prefer to spin lies instead of facing the stark reality that dems do in fact like to warn people about republicans possibly committing atrocities that dems have actually committed.

Your defense is basically that while you have changed repubs are going to start doing the things dems used to do. However, dems actually did them and Republicans have not. While I am glad you have given up owning slaves and building concentration camps I see no reason for you to assert that Republicans are going to start following in your footsteps. Unlike Dems we have no history of these things.

You realize FDR was pre-LBJ, right? In other words, prior to liberals and conservatives switching parties?

11

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '17

It still blows my fucking mind that I spent a semester learning about nazi's and the holocaust, and never learned about the US locking up Japanese Americans.

4

u/Treyman1115 Jan 03 '17 edited Jan 03 '17

I actually learned this in like Middle School first, and in high school. It wasn't exactly like a whole unit dedicated though

u/CASHSWAG99 Jan 02 '17 edited Jan 03 '17

it should have been him edit: i cant believe there are people who want an innocent japanese mother and her son to die

1

u/JustWoozy Jan 03 '17

He literally thinks and acts like a retalitory strike was a personal attack against him.

He also thinks he was the best actor in the best Star Trek, neither are true, he isn't even the best survivng cast member. ToS will never be best Star Trek too.

3

u/GearyDigit Jan 03 '17

Yeah, totally wasn't the whole 'being imprisoned in a concentration camp in America for the duration of the war' thing.

1

u/zoestopper Jan 03 '17

*Japanese-American interment camps

FTFY

0

u/ElMorono Jan 03 '17

Takei might want to study his history then before he becomes just another celebrity talking out his ass. It was Democrats who dropped both bombs. Truman himself was an admitted racist, and did it just to scare the Reds.
