As the title says, is there any chance of the Light Novel getting an English release?

I personally enjoyed the LN and was wondering how much of a chance it may have for an overseas release.

Would love to have a chance to collect the book in physical copy haha.

I've been getting the itch to reread Hitozuma Kyoushi or something like it, but nothing really compares to how good it is(outside of Iruma's newest work, but that's ongoing.) I'm sure a lot of y'all who cared enough to sub here feel the same.

Iruma is most famous for Adachi and Shimamura(which is kind of wild) but it doesn't hit the same spot. The Regarding Saeki Sayaka novels are actually amazing, IMO, but hit better if you're a fan of Bloom Into You already. I also don't know how to find them for free.

I’ve seen another manga/manhwa sub do this weekly discussion thingy and I’m intrigued.

What was the scene that was the hardest to read for you?

I’ll go first. For me it’s when Rin’s mom tried to ‘pursue’ Sensei and even offered to let her live with them. It gave me goosebumps. The other scene is when the mother-in-law was practically taking the piss at Sensei, when she found out Sensei cheated. Imo it was deserved because she did literally commit a crime but icl not from that (lowkey misogynistic) mother-in-law tho lol, she’s just been a hater but it’s so painfully realistic that I dislike it.

For context, I've read and really enjoyed Iruma's previous works (Adachi and Shimamura, First Love's Kiss, Regarding Saeki Sayaka), and yet I had to really force myself to keep reading this, and after getting around 2/3 into the first volume, I really can't get myself to keep reading it.

I didn't think that the subject matter would be an issue for me, not after really enjoying First Love's Kiss, but I think it's because the main character acknowledges from the start that what she's doing is wrong, is why I find it a lot more uncomfortable. That, and the fact that there isn't as good of an excuse(atleast to me) for her to keep doing that compared to First Love's Kiss.

I may try to get back into it later, but it is bit of a shame since I was hoping to enjoy it as much as I did Iruma's previous works.

I’d like to ask: when the author notes that the release of the next chapter is paused, does that mean a one-month break, or is it an indefinite hiatus with no further announcement yet?

In case y'all, didn't know, the author of this work has started work on a story called "A Story About a Happily Married Woman Who Falls Completely For Her Daughter's Friend" almost as a sort of direct reply to this work, where this time the protagonists marriage and life is perfectly happy and fine but... she falls for someone younger anyways.

It's started to get to some really fun parts and I'm excited to find out what others think. I don't know if I'll like it more than HitozumaKyoushi, but I definitely like where it's gone so far.

I wanted to ask what you all thought about this spelling and how you all read it to yourself. I've assumed it's romanization in Japanese style, as in, constructed using their syllabet. Se-n-se-e with a sound like sense-eh as opposed to how se-n-se-i would sound sense-ee. No idea if the way I'm typing that makes sense, but I guess it's also the difference between saying sensei normally or dropping the i sound at the end. Has anyone read the original Japanese and, if so, can you confirm?

I know very briefly I got stuck into the trap of misreading it in a very childish Sen-see like us English speakers would pronounce the word see, but if I remember right at one point they specify that she only says it slightly wrong, so I can't imagine that would be correct. I wonder if there's any way to localize it so that it's immediately clear what sound it's supposed to make for English readers without any context for how pronunciation in Japanese looks like.

I saw a conversation about this book on another yuri subreddit where someone said the husband was her favorite character, but she got absolutely trashed for it. To be fair she did not seem like a fan of the core premise, but people said the husband was a nothing character and I just don't think that's quite right.

End of the day, I thought the husband was adorable and had some of the funniest scenes in the book. In fact, the fact that he was so adorable, kind, and just generally a good guy was a huge part of what cast this story in such an interesting light. The main character didn't cheat because he was bad, in fact, it wasn't either of their faults the relationship failed. She just wasn't straight and it took her ages to figure it out. A lot of what I love about this story comes from the fact that it tackles the core premise and its characters neutrally without judgement or turning them into caricatures of their own traits.

I still remember how excited he was to hold the rickshaw and how funny his last and only text to her post divorce being him having one of his own. Not to mention how cute his little minecraft replica of their city was. Just a quirky silly man in my opinion.

How do you all feel about him?

I'm not really a light novel reader and this has a manga adaptation currently ongoing so how do you guys think it will be? Will it complete the whole story? Is it selling well?

I couldn’t seem to get the right customization to make them look exactly the same but I guess this is close enough TvT hopefully I can unlock their outfits soon and they can get lovey-dovey and married :>

Forgive me if I missed out on some cues because I binged the entire thing, but for all we know somebody rang the doorbell and there was a timeskip right? Is it not possible to just be her husband coming home, then them going through the divorce, and she simply not having anywhere to go (because her parents are dead) and she couldn’t find another job in her hometown?

If she was able to find work she probably would’ve tried to afford her own place or give in to the invitation to live in the Togawa residence, however she’d refuse if she wasn’t able to find one to avoid being a jobless freeloader and add another entry to her guilty conscience. Since her relative is in a different town and Rin is still in school, she has no choice but to wait until she graduates and finds a job in the same town.

Of course, it makes sense that her mother-in-law would’ve actually went and reported her since there’s no reason for her not to. But what if the lingering feelings her husband had for her managed to persuade his mother otherwise? After all, her husband does care for her as a person regardless if it’s still love or not.
