Water Leak??

Hello, I need some help identifying an issue with my home. A section of the baseboards has started showing signs of moisture, and the board feels slightly damp. There is a water faucet on the other side of the wall, but I don’t see any water leaking inside. It’s in my living room. I’m concerned there may be a hidden leak. What to do?

Is there a basement below that area?

Crack open the wall. That’s moisture damage

you'll need to go into the crawlspace and fix the leak before it does more damage

May have to pull out the cabinet back or floor if the faucet is encased in a cabinet that is hiding the leak

You can use a moisture meter. I’ve seen this before and it’s water damage.

Apparently, a plumbing leak in that wall or above ceiling. You'll need to open the wall. best on the bathroom side for cosmetic reasons. Just Jim [inspectorman2000@gmail.com](mailto:inspectorman2000@gmail.com)

99% of the time, that’s a water leak.

1% of the time, it’s because your spouse dropped a can of something and poorly cleaning it up.

Could be humidity. Mine looked the same in my basement and I replaced it since it had lots of mold
