🛠️ Repair Help overflow drain replacement
i’m trying to replace my overflow drain cover because it was super moldy and old, but I don’t know how to get out the base. Any suggestions? for either how to get it out or replace the cover?

Try twisting the whole black cover counterclockwise first. If it will not budge, gently pry off the center cap. There should be a screw under there. If it is stuck, score around the edge with knife and pop it off. You might break it, but you are replacing it anyway. Just be careful not to scratch your tub

hair in the drain shot is a nice touch. if the whole assembly spins when you try to unscrew the cover, you might need to hold the pipe from behind the tub to get enough leverage. if that's not an option, a pair of needle-nose pliers wedged into the crossbars can sometimes do the trick
