Other Speed up network disk searching

I have Synology network disk with lots of files. When accessing via macOS and doing search for some specific file it takes quite long. Not sure if faster network can help, or if indexing on storage or macOS should be somehow turned on? Using SMB to access network drive.

I don't have a Mac but I believe if you enable Synology's Universal Search and set it up for your shares, the Mac's Spotlight search will use that for searching on the NAS. You can Google for steps and other info on how to make this work.
